Strake Sandwich Co — Restaurant in Collingwood

Ever since I tried a lobster roll for the first time in Halifax several years ago I have dreamed of it's deliciousness but was resigned to never having one again until I visit the East Coast again. When I tried the East Coast Roll from Strake Sandwich when he first opened up a few years ago I could have cried from happiness it was so delicious.

I honestly would prefer to get a lobster roll here then go out to a restaurant when I am going out for food! The fries are excellent too (nothing worse than meh fries) but I have learned to save a bite of sandwich for last so that it's the last taste in my mouth. The combination of warm bread and melted butter with the cool sandwich filling and greens are just heaven.

I was nervous the first time visiting his new spot behind Treetz but Brandon (sp?) has set up a lovely eating area for the warmer months with picnic seating, rugs, and cushions.

We go on motorcycle rides all around Ontario and look for hidden gems to eat at. This is a hidden gem indeed! It's behind a building, so you really have to follow your gps and watch for the food "flag" out front as it's tucked behind the Treats cannabis shop. It's a nice location to stop at with a few picnic tables nestled in the shade. The food is amazing. You would never know it's coming from a food truck. All the ingredients are fresh and tasty. The presentation has many details that elevate the experience. The flavours are really good, and again, not what you would expect from a truck. My husband and I tried this food truck when we were in Collingwood the other day and loved it so much that we told our daughter and her friend to stop in when they were going by today. They gave the truck rave reviews as well! The owner was very friendly and the food was fantastic. My husband and I tried the Cubano and the Pulled Pork Hoagie. The pulled pork in the sandwiches very good and the accompaniments matched well. Everything was seasoned to perfection. My daughter and her friend tried the Brisket Smash Burger and the Lobster Roll.
