As a Thai person, I can confidently say this is far from authentic Thai food. I was there with two other Thai friends, and we all felt the same way. Calling it authentic is an insult to real Thai cuisine. The food was decent and edible, but the flavors were very Canadianized (or whatever fusion they were going for). If you’re looking for true Thai flavors, this isn’t it.

Edited: Thank you for your response. I understand that sourcing authentic ingredients can be tough, especially in more remote areas, but I live 300 km north of you, and we have much better Thai food here. I’m a bit confused by your comment about not disturbing others’ efforts and having understanding. Did you only want positive reviews? I shared my honest thoughts. We even told your server we were Thai, and she laughed it off, saying she wasn’t Thai BEFORE we placed our order. Why should I have to ask for authentic flavors at a Thai restaurant? Would I need to ask at every restaurant to get their authentic taste? Wouldn’t that be an insult? Also, mentioning you’ve lived in Canada for 30 years—well good for you- but it doesn’t excuse the fact that the flavors weren’t authentic. You are the reason Canadians might believe this is what Thai food is supposed to taste like. Did you let everyone know that it’s not?

I hope you take this feedback constructively. I wish you...

After visiting multiple cities in Thailand and experiencing the local life (eating in families homes and on the street) the people who review saying this is not “real Thai food” confuse me. The variety of Thai food is insane, and varies based on where you are in the country. I had many meals similar to what this restaurant serves on purpose to compare. The dishes Thonburi Thai serves are extremely satisfying, and hits the spot every time for me. The ingredients are sourced from a different place here, so some tastes are different but to me this is still very much Thai food. The food here tastes and feels wholesome. The flavours pop, lots of blended spices that make your taste buds jump. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. The prices are fair for the amount of food you get as well. Much more unique than just a typical chain Thai or fusion restaurant too, tastes like home cooking. 11 and 27.2 are my favourite dishes Very grateful to have a Thai restaurant like this in Collingwood!...

3 of us came here for dinner. We were greeted very nicely and taken to our table on on the patio. The carafe of water came very quickly and we were surprised at how fast the food came. We had #28, #30 and #9.1. Pad Thonburi was their specialty pad Thai. It was tangy and the noodles were perfectly cooked! Would definitely order it again! GANG MASAMAN lived up to its description on the menu. We did not order meat with this. It was excellent. Way better than expected! The GANG GA REE had a nice coconutty taste to it along with a lot of TENDER chicken! I prefer the meal with more meat and less vegetables. I didn't ask but this is what I got. I asked for extra spice. This is one of the best meals I've ever had!! Well mixed together. Pay cash and get an even better deal! Believe me, it is worth it to pay cash! Congratulations on a job well done! I can't see how they could have improved on anything. We can't wait till we are back...

Very cute restaurant with cozy and welcoming decor. The menu has many options for all dietary requirements. The menu prices are reasonable. They only accept cash, debit or etransfer. No credit cards. The beef salad was tasty. There's a hint of sweetness and mint making it refreshing taste. The curries were all tasty with good depth spice and flavors. The pad thai looked pretty good too. #31 noodle soup was kinda different taste. It had a sweet and sour broth which reminds me of Filipino style sinigang soup. Overall the experience was good. I think there are lots of options here. I beleive the taste and cooking methods lean towards being more locally friendly rather than authentic Thai flavors. The restaurant was completely full when we started eating so they have a loyal client base. Support local businesses in Collingwood glad they are doing well.

Won’t recommend at all this place just joke scamming people it’s totally worst experience ruin my wife Birthday 🎂… we went there family of four… literally they are robbing and stealing from people, we order Tom Kha soup it’s not at all close to authentic soup came out clear coconut broth with least amount of chicken and lots of veg to look bigger portion fried rice was made same lots of vegetables that’s on my large cabbage slices… with red rice and least about of chicken same thing happened with beef pad Thai and dish no 17 from the menu barely any protein … totally disappointed big time and won’t come ever again this review made us to write for in fair justification for people who believe in good food and spending there hardworking money….total scam 🚨
