bb.q Chicken — Restaurant in Coquitlam

Not quite sure why there are some low reviews. I am a fan of KFC but didn't know how much I needed to try this place until Crash Landing..

Now I must say this place is bomb! Now that some restaurants are opening up dine in, this place does it right. Came here on a Friday afternoon. Take away is auite busy with people constantly coming in and out. There were 2 tables seated when we arrived. We were sat a table once the staff realised we weren't there for take out.

Experience: The tables are appropriately distanced from each other. I literally saw the lady holding a measuring tape. This was one of my first dine in experiences since this whole thing began. As soon as we were seated, the waiter wearing a mask and gloves gave each of hand sanitzer. The menus are leaflets served for one use. We were given paper plates, not sure if thats normal but seemed appropriate for the times. The wait for food seemed longer than normal but we did order a lot and it seemed they were quite busy with the constant flow of take out.

Food: Delicious!! We ordered Half & Half, Cheesling, Honey Garlic Wings, Cheese Balls and Poutine. We enjoyed everything on the table. The original was my fave with the cheeseling in second. I found the sweet spicy more sweet than spicy. The poutine was bomb! And the cheese balls.. world of its own took me back to my childhood. Couldnt quite pin the cheese flavour at first but they reminded me of the Cheese Rings snacks I'd get as a child at the filipino store. Hands up if you know what I'm talking about ;)

Overall: Would defo come back! Service was friendly and efficient. Felt safe to dine in and the restaurant takes the appropriate measures to ensure everyones safety. Which is defo a plus. The complex is quite busy so may be hard to get a parking spot but don't let that deter you. The food...

If you want to wait for MORE THAN AN HOUR WITHOUT CLEAR ESTIMATED WAITING TIME, you definitely come to the right place. Me and my friends (group of 5) came to this place today because I saw the rating and the review was good, and we saw there was a huge line up, so we wrote our name on the waiting list and we thought we just have to wait for an hour max because the waitress said that they can't estimate the wait time. We wait there, mostly standing outside with the cold without chairs or even heaters, and I thought "Oh maybe it's still new so they haven't set up everything properly". After an hour of waiting, I went back in to the restaurant and asked them how long do we have to wait coz we already waited for an hour, and their answer was still the same, "I'm so sorry, but we're not sure the estimated waiting time". We waited again for another half an hour, and we saw there was a table for 5 already paid and they left, and I thought "Oh that table must be for us", AND THEY SEPARATED THE TABLE AND GAVE THE TABLE TO OTHER PEOPLE WHO LINED UP AFTER US. We complained and the waitress said "Oh they lined up before you guys and I supposed to write their name before your name". I don't care what's your excuse, our name was first on the line and they just gave the table to someone else, it's not fair and professional....

The food was good and came relatively fast. How ever the service was sad. Our food came but we still had not received water, we asked for waved one server down about half way through our meal to ask for water and they acknowledged me but clearly forgot about us after we waited 10 minutes. We had to flag the other server down to get our water. The place was not even busy, there were only four other tables besides us and two waiters. I wanted to order another thing of chicken while we ate because I did not want to have to wait for the chicken after we had already paid and finished. I waved a server down and they again acknowledged me but forgot about me again, I waited 10 minutes and we pretty much finished already. I waved the other server down and they saw me and nodded but never came to our table. We had to wait another ten minutes until we gave up and they clearly were not going to come to us with the bill even though they brought the bill to two other tables with big groups?? We got up to pay and we wanted to split the bill and I said I wanted to purchase another order to go with my bill and the server looked straight up annoyed at me. In the end I asked and it would have to take 30 minutes of my friends and I waiting if I wanted to order to go and I just ended up giving up. Food was good,...
