Bbong Korean Restaurant 뽕 is located at Hanin Village 한인 빌리지 on North Road in Coquitlam (same plaza as H Mart).
Bbong has been on our list for a while, and there are many alternative options in the area. Thanks to all the glowing reviews about their generous portions and reasonable prices, we finally made it to Bbong. This cozy spot serves up Korean-Chinese cuisine (韓式中華料理),
As soon as we stepped in, we noticed the place was buzzing with families — lots of kids, which felt like a good sign. We went a little overboard with our order. We have no regrets. We were stuffed, but the food was so worth it. The leftovers made for a delicious late-night snack and a great lunch the next day. They still tasted amazing the day after!
Bbong features a wider range of Korean-Chinese dishes like Jajangmyeon 짜장면 (black bean noodles), Tangsuyuk 탕수육 (crispy pork in sweet & sour sauce), Kkanpunggi 깐풍기 (spicy garlic fried chicken), and Guobaorou 꿔바로우 (deep-fried pork in a tangy glaze). The flavours lean sweeter, sour, salty, and more spicier than those found in Korean cuisine, but they have the best fusion flavour from Korean Chinese cuisine - think sweet-sour-spicy.
We happened to visit during their 10th anniversary promotion, which made everything even more affordable. It was such a steal. Bbong 뽕is the kind of spot you want to go back to again and again, especially with friends or family.
We’re already planning our next visit — so many more dishes to try. If you’re in the Coquitlam area, this spot is a must.

Service has dropped significantly. We ordered a Combo B and it appears that the prices have gone up by CAD16 over 4 years.
We ordered an upsize to our noodles but we did not get the upsize. So after calling in to let the staff know, they told us to come back for a refund.
When we got to the restaurant for the refund, the staff, a guy named JW, appeared to be extremely unhappy with processing the refund and slammed items on the cashier’s table to show his annoyance about processing the refund. I left the store and realised that I was shortchanged as they failed to refund the tax as well and went back to let JW know. He then slammed the pen onto the table, slammed the calculator, then proceeded to stare at me as if trying to intimidate me. I just did the calculation and told him what my refund was missing and he slammed the cash register before handing me the remaining amount and then slammed the table as I walked out.
Absolutely terrible service. Would not recommend.
2016 review.
Food: Delicious. Well known for their JaJiangMian and their Spicy Seafood Noodles. I didn't grab a pic of the menu as I forgot. I ordered the JaJiangMian and seafood and didn't regret it, thick handmade(I think) noodles with rich, savory black bean sauce. There were a few shrimp here and there in the sauce and the cuttlefish was perfect, not rubbery, not chewy, just nice. The onions were extremely sweet, that I couldn't believe how sweet they were.
Price: $8.99 for the JJM, it doesn't look filling at first glance but damn, it sure is, and super worth it.
Service: Prompt and friendly service, could be due to us going there during their non-peak periods.
Would I recommend? A resounding yes, but for the two food options mentioned above as my Korean friend said that the rest on the menu could be better and that there were other Korean restaurants in the area serving better stuff other than the JJM and Spicy...
Read moreWent back to Vancouver, my coworker took me to eat Korean food after her work. We went to a Korean Restaurant nearby Lougheed Town Center in Coquitlam. The location of the restaurant is right beside the Korean Super Market – H Mart. The name of the restaurant calls BBong Korean Restaurant.
Before we went to this place, my coworker told me that this place is famous for its Chicken. I was so excited to try its chicken. We arrived the restaurant right after the work around 6:30 pm. The restaurant was not very busy since it was on the weekday – Monday. We could easier get a seat and the server brought us the menu and drinks.
The menu book was awesome. It provided a picture with each order, so customers could easier to order the food. After few minutes discussion, we decided to order its family combo to share, which came with a jajangmyeon, a jjampong, and tansuyuk/kanpoongi) for about $30. It seems like a great deal for us (My friend told me that it will be a great deal for 2 people and we will have lots of food).
After waiting for 10 to 15 mins, our food finally came out from the kitchen. My friend was right. Those amount of food (super large portion) cost us only $30 in total, which was awesome. All the food looked so delicious. The taste of the food was awesome too. I like the spicy seafood noodles’ soup. The soup was not so spicy, but very seafood flavors. My most favourite dish was the chicken. OMG. That was lots of Chickens. The taste of the chicken seemed like the special sweet pork dish from my hometown. Tasty and Yummy. I love it sooooo much.
Since only two of us, we had lots of leftover food in the end. We took all the leftover to go. It was a great experience eating at BBong Korean Restaurant. I would love to come back to this place again and highly recommend to all my friends to go. Delicious Food and...
