The food is pretty great. Service is not so much - I had experience in 2 dine-ins and 1 delivery with this relatively new restaurant. First dine-in experience was great. The food was delicious and the portion was generous. Although the waitress forgot about my drink order, it was not a big deal because they did not charge me - and I never reminded them because I was getting pretty full.
2nd dine-in experience, however, was pretty unpleasant. The restaurant was busy, but inside was super hot without a/c - We had heat warning on that day, so I could not understand why they would not turn on a/c. Maybe it was broken? I never found out, because there was no explanation nor apology from the staff. Lack of tables pushed us to the outside patio, which was not any better than inside because of heat warning. We waited a bit for inside seating, but later went in to sit on the upper level because it was empty. The waitress said upper level is hotter, but it is up to us to sit and eat. I did not care for her attitude, because her words was like, I told you it is hot - but if you insist, whatever. If I were in her position, I would feel very sorry for the customers who have to sit without a/c or fan on the hot day. She simply did not seem to care.
Delivery experience - Because my husband liked one of their dishes, we decided to order through Doordash. We ordered the same dish we had on our 1st dine-in experience, but was very disappointed with the portion. It was nothing like what we had in dine-in. The portion was small, one of meat kind was missing, no steamed rice on the side, and no side dishes came in together either.
Despite of good tasted food, I don't think I will go to this restaurant because there are other good Korean restaurants out there that have better...
Read moreI visited Koreana with high hope for the good seafood kalguksu, but the taste was just like instant kalguksu I can buy from Korean grocery store. The taste of the soup was so familiar taste to instant noodle I made at home… There were lots of seafood, but I was expecting more than that. The same thing happened to cold noodle with soup. For the staffs, I guess they just opened their business and servers are also new to the restaurant and undertrained. They didn’t greet my group and we ended up asking one of the staffs near the door that we are here (obviously at least one of them was working 2 meters away from us and could hear us but ignored us until we called her). Then one server took our order and even wrote it down on a piece of paper. About 20-25 mins later, other server came and asked if we ordered. What???? Was this a joke? It was not busy at all at the time we ordered, maybe one or two tables just sit in. The server still forgot to enter our order. And we got one can of free drink for two adults. Just one pop for two. If you are trying to make it up, at least count how many guests are on the table. We waited another 10 mins or so for the first food arrived. As I mentioned earlier, the taste of food was not impressive at all. I was disappointed with the taste and how the things were treated. I don’t think I will come back for the...
Read moreWe were brought to this restaurant after seeing a post on TikTok to try this out and honestly I would have given this place 5 stars, the food tasted amazing, we ordered the Spicy stew with ham, sausage, kimchi, rice cake, and instant noodle and boiled Pork with Salty Sauce, as well as the seafood pancake.
The only downside was that after eating 1/4 of the spicy stew hot pot we found a tied saran wrap floating in the soup. We called the server over to explain that there was a piece of saran wrap in the soup and she quickly said sorry and took the soup away. We were expecting her to come back and explain our options or to fully acknowledge the situation but unfortunately she sent it back to the kitchen to remake the soup without asking us if we still wanted the dish or that it would have been on the house. We ended up going home with a brand new stew but after finding saran wrap in the first pot, we were a bit thrown off with hygienic practices in the kitchen and the way the situation was handled. I ended up paying full price, and would have preferred not to pay for that specific dish at all.
The restaurant gets busy, and is fairly new, we understand mistakes happen but hope that this doesn’t happen again and staff could show a bit more empathy to these types...
