Where to begin.... this small yet very welcoming sushi spot is a hidden gem. The owners are very friendly, courteous and just have a warmth about them. The place is tidy and cozy. I like the layout as well, they did well for the space they have. I particularly loved the handmade, (by the owners), pottery glasses that accompanied our beverage. The sushi itself.... Wow. It’s times like this when I wish you could try a piece of every custom roll. Just sit and eat for hours, it gives you that kinda feeling. Lucky enough for me I live real close by The Poke is delightfully good. Taco so crisp, Salmon Avocado roll..... mouth watering as I write this review. Anyhow if you are in area and care to have a wonderful Sushi experience, go to Sushi Karis. I can’t find the words to convince you enough, let them do it.

Neat little sushi place tucked away in a sleepy neighbourhood in Coquitlam. I'd definitely miss it if I didn't look for it online. Service was prompt and we were seated quickly. Clear menus and easy to make selections. Clear interior that isn't overly cluttered. We ordered a Dinner For 2 combo, and a sleeve of Asahi on special. The food here is very tasty. The salad greens and fish are very fresh, and the chicken udon is flavorful and not overly salty like other places. Portion size was OK, for the price I expected a bit more. I was disappointed with how small the shrimp tempura came out to be. The Asahi on tap was excellent though - unbeatable price for imported Japanese beer. Would be quite interested in coming back.

This place was recommended to us by a local (we are from Ontario). The speciality rolls are absolutely delicious! For appetizers we ordered the spring rolls which were good and Jalapeño bomb which had a nice spice to it. We ordered: salmon, veggie and dynamite for classic rolls and they were all simple and delicious. The rice to veggie/fish ratio was great and they even offer black rice for an extra $2. We ordered a ton of the specialty rolls and none of them disappointed. Really can’t go wrong with anything on this menu. I wish we could transport this place to Ontario! The service was great! The waitress was very friendly, she let us write our order down ourselves (big group), and the food came out very quick.

Ordered Tuna & Salmon Combo B, Chopped Scallop Roll, California Combo, Veggie Roll as takeout. The tuna, salmon and chopped scallop (raw items) all tasted very unfresh and the tuna had an unpleasantly mushy texture. Rice also seemed weirdly and strongly seasoned. I could not eat these items - I have gotten very sick from food poisoning before so I don't take risks on questionable seafood. Veggie roll and California roll were good. Quite disappointed because the food looked great, presented beautifully even in a takeout container, and the proportions of rice to filling in the roll were excellent. Sadly won't be back since there are many other sushi restaurants around here with fresher sashimi.

First time trying, we only ordered the crazy girl roll via delivery, so this review may not be a fair representation of the establishment Taste 1/1* Although it was a fried California roll, it some how tasted pleasantly fresh…? Value 0/1* For what’s basically a fried California roll with cream cheese, $12.36 is pretty expensive imo Speed 1/1* Order was received on time Presentation 1/1* Delivered well, presentation on point, always appreciate being able to eat with eyes first Overall/Revisit 1/1* Yes would revisit to try more dishes Above and beyond? 0/+1*

This restaurant became one of our favorite delivery options during the pandemic, so it was nice to visit it in person. However, the restaurant is very busy and small, so keep that in mind. I never had anything to complain about ordering delivery, so visiting in person was the same. It was interesting to learn that dining in the Master roll is served with a little fire show. Deluxe assorted sashimi was top-notch. I think it is an excellent location for Japanese cuisine and we'll remain their regular customers.
