Our band used to play somewhat regularly at John B a few years ago. I never ate when we played since I was either busy setting up or playing. Besides, my mom always said never to eat before playing. To tell the truth, it just never occurred to me that eating at a pub be an enjoyable experience. That changed a month ago and since then I've eaten there about once or twice a week.
The food here is the real deal. Great variety. Just had the cauliflower appetizer and the steak sandwich. Really good. Wife had the chop chop wrap and she loved it. Austen Heights burger (so good I've had it 3x) is also fantastic.
Prices are comparable to the chain restaurants like CC, E's, and MS's, but I'd rather spend my $$$ at a locally owned restaurant.
Atmosphere is great with lots of regulars from all walks of life. I love eating here and have been recommending it to friends. Servers are super friendly and they bring the food with great timing.
Above all...it's clean! You go to some places and they look great in the dark, but pretty grimy when the lights are on. John B is surrounded by windows and it looks just as good in the daytime as at night. Maybe I caught them at the right time, but it seems like a regular thing for them to keep everything tight.

Read moreWent here on July 30th to check out as I am looking for a new Sunday Football place.
I liked the atmosphere as soon as I walked in. It was busy but not packed. I found a seat and within minutes and was greeted by Courtney who provided amazing service. She always had a new drink on the way for me by the time my drink was empty. She was busy with all the table but no one was waiting for very long at all.
Food I had the salt & pepper dry ribs, they were perfectly cooked, a little crispy and moist. My only issue was the flavor was bit mild and I am used to more. Would I recommend yes, would I try again yes as my preference is subjective.
I had the hot wings, nice texture but were salty which I was not expecting. The side of blue cheese did offset the saltiness so it worked in that way. I would like to try the salt & pepper wings when I go next.
The selection of food and drinks for happy hour is impressive. So many items to try still for me.
I was here long enough to have a 2nd sever who was named Savannah. She was also very good and provided amazing service. She was quick with the drinks and was very nice to deal with.
I got the feeling that all staff here no matter who I had would have provided great service. I look forward to watching some football here...
Read moreHad to prompt the waitress for menus after she had passed by us at least once in 10 minutes. Then her smile changed to looking down her nose and saying she’ll be right over. Ordered our usual drink, we are regulars there. Ordered dinner, food was great, but didn’t come together for some reason??? Had to ask for my hubbys meal, where was it? She came over after asked if we needed anything, are we ok, we said yes then she completely ignored us. Couldn’t get her attention for the life of us so I then went over and asked for the bill which I then got the same down the nose look. I let my hubby do the tip because quite frankly her service was terrible and I wouldn’t have left her anything. He gave her 5%. Well as we are leaving, I see her showing another waitress that we also know we’ll as we are regulars there, and making a bad face about it. Really?? I hope she told the other waitress the low tip was because her attentiveness was lacking and she chose to ignore her guests that keep her employed. I normally would not do this review but felt it necessary because I thought it was extremely rude for her to do that and then gesture over to us as we were leaving. If we come back we definitely do not want to be in...
