Tonight I went to the McDonald's in Austin, Coquitlam with my two children (5 and 12 years old) after three hours in the pool they were starving. Since it was late we went through the drive through to take the things and eat in at home, but unfortunately the girl who received the order did not take it properly, it was an order of 5 products offered by the company and when I wanted to confirm that everything had been considered in the order she told me that I should move f orward and at the next window I could verify it, despite ordering my orders in combo mode when I went to withdraw they were only giving me two drinks instead of 5 which caught my attention, it turns out that they had only written down the sandwiches and not the fries and drinks. I explained the situation to a nice girl who seemed new since she called another one who seemed to understand the situation and wanted to charge me for the fries. I didn’t understand well so she asked me to park and tuen come inside to deal with the problem better so I did, the girl who served me insisted that she would give me the drinks for free and that I only had to pay 20 dollars extra for the fries that had not been included and that the drinks would be free and I asked her Why would you do that? The combos were another price and then the cost did not match, the girl began to raise her voice insisting that the drinks would not be charged and practically trying to shame me for her incompetence, after seeing that the girl became more and more upset and Angry, I asked her to cancel the order since she was not even remotely willing to understand the problem or solve it. She made me feel terrible and my children were left crying because of the incompetence of the store manager who treated the situation in a terrible way. The worst thing is that the girl is Indy and it is not the first time this has happened to me at McDonald’s, every day they hire more Indy people who provide...

The staff here socialize more than they want to work. Us customers just annoy them by showing up. Especially to those who work overnight/early mornings. I guess they wanted a chill shift. EVERY TIME I head to the drive through at 5am on the weekend, I just sit there for at least 3 to 4 mins. Just waiting for someone on the other end to say Hello. There's nobody else they are servicing before me. The place is deserted at this time. When I drive up to pay for my food, you are very hard pressed to get a good morning or a hello from the staff unless you initiate.
Today drove me insane. Besides the wait for someone to take my order at the drive through, I was told they ONLY have baked items and beverages. At 5:15am. No breakfast. No hash browns. No explanation. Just "you can order baked items and I can get you your coffee". Confused but ok. No signs anywhere that says the kitchen is closed. I ordered a coffee and a carrot muffin for my coworker but I wanted a breakfast meal or at least hash brown before work. I drove up to the window and asked again why I couldn't get hot food. She said "only baked items and drinks". Ok, lady!!! You said that 3 times already. So I asked "is the kitchen closed?". She replied, without looking at me but with what I felt like an eye roll and annoyed voice "yes, kitchen is closed". I can't with this place. Go anywhere but here until they get a team that cares or management...
Read moreVisiting the drive-thru for a late-night snack, I had a mixed experience that still left me overall satisfied. On one hand, the service I received at 11 pm was less than warm. The staff’s tone was somewhat cocky and cold, which might not bother everyone, but it did strike a chord with me. However, I understand that this is subjective and could be influenced by my own sensitivities.
On the brighter side, during another visit, I ordered a Crispy McWrap—a choice that apparently needed extra time to prepare. The staff asked me to wait in the parking lot, which was perfectly fine as I passed the time watching YouTube. The wait was about 15 minutes, and here’s where the experience turned notably positive. The cook (or chef, if you will) personally came out to apologize for the delay. To my pleasant surprise, they compensated for the wait with extra large fries and apple pies.
Despite the initial lackluster interaction, this gesture showed a level of customer care that was much appreciated. It’s worth noting that the late-night staff did seem a bit playful and possibly unprepared, their loud and busy demeanor hinting at a less formal work environment. I can empathize, considering that night shifts might often be monotonous and dull.
In conclusion, while the service attitude could use some improvement, the quality of food and the thoughtful gesture of the staff partly made up for it. Hence, I’m giving this experience a 4 out of 5 stars. It’s not perfect, but it’s definitely more than satisfactory for a late-night...
