Wow! Just wow! Let me be as Frank as I can. Everyone should drop what they're doing and go to this place if you like Indian cuisine. My tastebuds are used to Indian food and I was going to be critical of the hype and the quality. I tried the trademark Butterica because it sounded amazing. The owners were kind enough to provide a sample of a regular Butter Chicken for comparison. We also tried their naan and the shahi paneer.
The Butterica is worthy of being trademarked, boy oh boy. It is the best version of a butter chicken I've ever had. I've had a lot of butter chicken. The flavors are rich, the gravy is thick, and it has generous amount of pieces of marinated chicken tikka mixed in the gravy. I believe this is made with a cashew sauce, you can see chunks of cashew in it and you taste the freshness of roasted tomatoes. Gone are the days of the rubbery flavorless chicken breast and the annoyingly sweet tomato sauce. Compared to their regular butter chicken, it was no competition. Their regular butter chicken also includes chicken tikka in the gravy, however, you can taste that aforementioned sweetness that I'm not the biggest fan of. In isolation, the regular butter chicken is good, but the side by side comparison makes it a no contest in favor of the Butterica.
For the Veg lovers, the shahi paneer is freaking good! It has a distinct flavor, doesn't taste like generic butter gravy. It was rich in flavor and you can taste subtle spices and ginger. It is some of the best I've had. Their naan was good, comparable to most other establishments. It is the perfect vehicle to sop up the wonderful gravy. Hopefully more people will try this place and decide for themselves. Personally, I no longer need to go to Surrey for amazing...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at MILAAP Restaurant and tried their highly recommended Chana Bhatura, and I must say, it was an absolute delight!
From the moment the dish arrived, the aroma was incredibly inviting. The bhatura itself was perfectly puffed, golden-brown, and wonderfully light, with just the right amount of crispiness on the outside and a soft, fluffy interior. It wasn't greasy at all, which is often a concern with fried bread, and it maintained its texture beautifully throughout the meal.
The chana masala was equally impressive. It had a rich, robust flavor profile, perfectly balanced with a medley of aromatic spices. The chickpeas were tender and cooked to perfection, and the gravy had a delightful thickness that clung to the bhatura without being too heavy. It struck a fantastic balance between being savory and subtly tangy, with a hint of warmth from the spices that truly elevated the dish. It's clear that a lot of care and authentic ingredients go into preparing this classic.
Overall, MILAAP Restaurant's Chana Bhatura is a must-try. It's a comforting, flavorful, and truly satisfying dish that captures the essence of authentic Indian cuisine. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a delicious and well-prepared meal. I'll definitely be back...
Read moreEdit: After trying other dishes I find some are pretty good, like their vindaloo, kadhi paneer and chicken dishes. Some are below average, like the bharta, naan and gulab jamun. Overall decent though, just need a bit of luck.
Original: Seeing the reviews and high ratings, I tried to love their food, but sadly it falls behind my expectation.
Eggplant bharta ⭐⭐: all sauce, little eggplant, like an eggplant-flavored chutney. I haven't seen such a yellow baigan bharta, should have a purple-ish color from the eggplant?
Coconut rice ⭐: The description says it's cooked with coconut milk and curry leaves, but it comes with grated coconut and coriander?? Lackluster flavor.
Butterica chicken ⭐⭐⭐⭐: As a normal dish it's good, it uses chicken thighs instead of chicken breast as many other restaurants do which gives a more chewy texture. But as their brand it does not give us a wow feeling. The sauce is just fine, more nutty and less tomato-ish compared with normal butter chicken.
Also all the dishes feel overly salty and spicy by mild standard. Large portion feels not large enough, but considering the price it's okay though. Maybe it's the traditional Indian way of flavoring and serving, other restaurants I've been to...
