I really hope that you turn your eyes onto my concern. Today, we went to Coquitlam Centre at around 4pm with my family. While we were at the foodcourt eating our dinner, bunch of teenagers were screaming and making loud noises that disturbed many of us eating there and just along nearby starbucks and by fresh slice pizza's walk path, there were also plenty of teenagers screaming, cat calling people and sometimes even destroys things or bang chairs. This didn't really made me feel very comfortable walking or staying at this mall especially I was with my 2 kids and a baby. Moreover, A couple days ago, my husband was getting some stuff from Walmart which was also inside this mall have encountered a bunch of teenagers throwing some food items on the floor and it was just absurd. We have gone into a different bunch of malls here in the city like the lougheed mall or brentwood mall but we have never experienced anything like this. On top of that, just couple months ago there were some news about a bunch of teenager tried to robbed a person there and pulling out a knife on him. It's just getting out of control and it seems like the mall isn't really doing anything to prevent it. Pls, have some more security walking around the mall because this used to be me and my family's favorite mall and used to take my kids here just to hang out but upon experiencing what has happened today, I am not considering to bring my family here again unless it becomes SAFE again. I hope you really look into my concern because safety is a priority and this mall is getting a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOne of my first outings with my infant baby since his birth. Thought Iād use the āparent and childā parking on the rooftop (you know, the spots that have a baby stroller/carriage symbol on the signage?). Itās a safe location, so parents donāt have to walk the gauntlet of regular busy spots of parking with crazy drivers. Well, the elevator was out of service, and thereās a sign to call security for assistance. I call security, and the lady tells me the elevator is restricted for use by mall staff? Really? Do staff park bring their babies to work regularly at the mall? I didnāt realizeā¦
I asked if there are other parent-child parking spots anywhere else in the mallās ample parking. The lady said āno.ā
Soā¦whatās the point of the parent-child parking? She didnāt know. But, I could walk down the staircase with the stroller and carrier, if I wantedā¦security cannot assist me. Or, I could just park in a regular spot.
I know: itās to discriminate against parents and babies coming to the mall. Itās to make things just a little bit more difficult for the new parent, so they canāt enjoy some shopping with their baby.
VERY disappointed, as Iāve been coming to this mall since I was a toddler with my parents. Well, Iāll not be coming back until thereās changes that rectify such discrimination (like parent-child spots throughout the mallās parking lots thatās accessible for mall patrons, and not...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is a review of Photos with Santa, specifically. Since it's a temporary place, I can't add it separately, but the photographer is so good that I thought it worthwhile to give other parents a heads-up. The photographer is very, very attentive, watching the whole time to catch the perfect shot. She even took the time to adjust my son's Santa hat, to ensure that it looks its best, in the photos. I ended up with several fantastic photos. (Normally, I'm happy to find one that's just "okay," or "will do." ) She uses a Nikon D3, and the photo quality is high while still keeping the file sizes small. Santa's pretty awesome, too.
As for the rest of the mall (the "permanent collection," let's say) it's a pretty standard mall, with your basic London Drugs, H.B.C., T&T, Sephora, H&M, Sportchek, Aritzia, Browns, Guess, L'Occitane, Pandora, Swarovski, Miniso, all the expected players (including at the food court). The first Uniqlo in the G.V.R.D. opened here, and is still there, but it's a smaller location and doesn't have the special, collaboration collections that go to Metrotown. Seating was limited, outside the food court, before, but they've just added loads, all over the mall. Lots of parking, and easily accessible by Skytrain. There's been a lack of restaurants with actual table service, since Montana's closed, but Milestones seems to be moving over, so there'll...
