We had heard really great things about this brunch spot from our local Facebook food group and decided to give it a shot when we were in the area on Saturday!
The inside looks great, it has a very modern and clean look, and the lady that helped us was friendly and efficient. We ordered the Thai green tea, a drip coffee, the brisket hash, the twice cooked pork belly benny, and an ube scone.
The main courses were very delicious, the eggs were the perfect texture and I especially loved the pickled onions and how they popped against the well- developed rich and meaty flavours. You can tell that each dish is crafted with care by the amount of effort they put into plating nicely, even though they come in to-go boxes! Also, because of COVID everything comes to-go style, but I appreciate that they use paper/cardboard containers and not styrofoam!
On a constructive note, I did find the hollandaise a bit lacking in flavour and we mostly just tasted butter. A touch more seasoning would make it great! I also realized after we left that I never got my side salad with my benny, but it's probably because even without it I was impressed.
It's hard to say because I loved almost everything, but I think the Thai green tea and ube scone stole the show that day, as I was so pleasantly surprised by them. It was one of the best milk teas I've ever had, and I have milk teas pretty often (due to my boba addition). It was so flavourful with a hint of a slight floral note, it was amazing. It was perfectly balanced between the tea flavour, the sweetness and the creaminess.
The ube scone seemed really unique as I don't have ube often, and it was really delicious. I find scones very dry most of the time, but this one was both crusty on the outside and moist on the inside. It had a subtle sweet flavour that provided a lovely aftertaste, which makes you crave more until it's all devoured!
I'm really glad to have a place like this nearby with such interesting and delicious fusion food that's made with such care. Aside from the two constructive notes, everything was perfect and we'll definitely be...
Read moreI really wish I could give this place more stars, but the experience me and my friends had here was a hectic one. First, we came on a Sunday around noon for brunch. Sundays are a very busy day, so we expected a waitlist which is totally fine. We waited about an hour for our table. There was so many people leaving, after an hour of not receiving a call we came in again to check how it was going, they apologized said that it was so hectic they were behind with calling the customers. When we finally ordered and sat down, it took quite a while to get our food. I ordered the chicken sandwich, and I was really disappointed when they put pickled peppers and onions on it when it never stated on the menu that it was on the burger. I didn’t bother saying anything because you could see the staff were already really struggling to keep up with all the orders. Second my two friends ordered the acai bowl, and one was completely forgotten all together. We had to go remind them that we never received an order. I do not blame the workers that day, if anything we really felt bad for how stressful everything was. From my understanding aswell is a lot of them were very new, and being new while working a Sunday ,plus understaffed is understandably very overwhelming. We even noticed they were accidently overcharging guests, and not being able to refund them due to the new machine system. One worker really stood out though; I believe her name was Lea. She was so kind and was going above and beyond to try and fix all the problems and issues that the restaurant was having. She was really trying her best and it was lovely interacting with her. She alone made our experience a lot better. The food we received itself was really well made and very delicious. ( Besides having the pickles peppers/onions on my sandwich ) But Like I said before, I had such high hopes for this place, unfortunately due to our experience and the stress it caused us , this place would not be our first choice to come back to. Overall, they need more staff on a Sunday, and better...
Read moreWent exploring around my neighborhood today and randomly found this little breakfast spot. They only open until 3 p.m., but wow—turned out to be one of the best breakfasts I’ve had in a long time. Perfect kind of discovery for a weekend morning.
The vibe here is pretty casual. You grab a table yourself, order at the counter, then the staff bring out your food and drinks. After you’re done, you just head out and they clear the table. Simple, no fuss. I usually don’t love when servers check in mid-meal, but funny enough, I kinda wished they did here—just so I could tell them how good the food was.
I went for the Twice-Cooked Crispy Belly Benny, the priciest thing on the menu, and honestly it was worth every bite. The eggs were spot on—yolks flowing rich and golden, not overdone, not undercooked. The chili sauce looked fiery but was actually more on the fragrant-sweet side, with just enough heat to lift the flavors. Paired with the crispy pork belly and the fresh salad, it was a perfect balance of rich and refreshing. Even the salad dressing deserves credit—light, clean, and just enough to coat everything without drowning it.
Coffee was just okay—nothing to write home about. And a small note: I swapped my latte for oat milk, and they charged extra without mentioning it. Not a big deal, but I honestly don’t think I’ve been charged for oat milk in Canada before.
All in all, this place hit the spot. A really solid weekend breakfast, the kind that puts you in a good mood for the rest of the day. Definitely planning to come back, and I’d happily recommend it if you’re looking for a chill place to start...
