Update: April 2025 Ended up giving the place a third try, and wish I didn't. No change from 2 stars. Tempura is worse, with too dark a colour indicating it was either overfried or that they don't change their oil frequently enough. The teriyaki chicken and beef were dry, and the sauce bland. Prices are still fair, but even that can't save the poor food quality and taste. Never coming back, 3 strikes is enough. _____________________________________ Update: March 2022 Gave them a second chance, and wish I didn't. Went from 3-star rating to now a 2-star rating. Read original review for details, but this time around, the rolls have gotten smaller, so the original value consideration isn't even valid anymore, and the sashimi pieces on the sushi doesn't taste fresh. Their chicken teriyaki box is disappointing, as the chicken is pounded to a half centimeter thick, and their tempura pieces are small in size and overfried. Not giving them a third chance anytime soon. _____________________________________ First time trying this place, and finding it mediocre and not living up to its strong 4+ rating at this time. Takeout order started out with an error in that they gave me beef yakiudon instead of the chicken yakiudon I ordered. The beef teriyaki was quite minced as well into tiny barely discernible pieces rather than strands of meat as is typical. It was also a bit on the oily side. Their sashimi salad also strays from the usual expectation, in that it has tamago pieces in it, has a somewhat plain vinaigrette dressing of mainly just light soy sauce with maybe some lemon juice, and had ratio of 6 small-medium pieces of sashimi to a whopping amount of salad underneath. The sushi rolls we tried were the Dyna Dream, Narita roll, and Harry Potter Roll. We also had the salmon oshi aburi. Pros are that the rolls contain a Samurai Sushi-esque amount of imitation crab, so you can get full from just 2 rolls. Cons are that this also drowns out the flavor of the other ingredients in the roll. Up to individuals to decide if they like the plainer rice (less sticky and less vinegar flavour) compared to usual, which although would be more traditional towards Japanese sushi rice, also meant the rolls didn't hold form as well. Things I did appreciate were the 10% off on >$30 takeout orders, and their complimentary edamame side (sure it's 25 cents of food that might've been charged $2.99, but the thoughtfulness is appreciated). The general prices were fair as well. All in all, come for the value of the meal, but maybe not the flavor. Perhaps I'll eventually come back to give them a second chance, but for now this is a middling sushi place that is interchangable with the many more average ones out there.

Wow, I wish I found out about this place earlier. Narita sushi might be what I have been looking for all these years: a good priced, good quality food. I have to admit, I was frustrated at first due to the long wait until I realized there were only two servers and around 40 diners. That's a 1:20 ratio with one server serving twenty people! They looked stressed but maintained a well composure. When we finally were noticed we were politely offered a seat. Right after we were seated, more people flooded in including the Chefs from the nearby theatre. That's when I knew this place was legitimately good. They did forget to give us soy sauce saucers but I'll let that trivial matter slide. When I saw the menu, I was impressed. The price isn't so expensive! Half of the special rolls were under $10. You can barely find those around Vancouver let alone Burnaby. When the food came, it didn't disappoint. Not only did it taste good, but it was so filling we had to take the leftovers home! A +1 for the waitress that caught a spider and let it go outside. Although the fact there's a spider on the light above where the food is served bothers me a little bit. Ultimately, I'm so excited about coming back here!

I was highly anticipating this sushi parlor after checking out the raving reviews, but was a huge let down for me. The Miso Soup 御味御付 was very weak tasting. Followed by our Roll selections, mostly were broken rolls, not rolled properly and very difficult to eat/falling apart. The rolls with brown rice had no textural or tasting difference and I'm pretty sure was intact normal white sushi Rice, the Yam Roll was also uncooked and therefore inside Yam Tempura filling was hard and chewy. The Prawn Tempura was also massively inconsistent in size and I think was actually unfrozen defrostwd Prawns. The Edamame 枝 was good, but difficult in my opinion to get wrong. The Wasabi was also really mushy and more a liquid- based mushy texture. The highlight for me was the Inari Nigiri, always a flawless knockout. The 10% discount when showing a movie stub is dope and a good reason for post movie sushi. Service was also pretty slow, although the server was lovely there was food sat out for a while. I hate to not compliment local businesses but this was an embarrassing visit when showing some friends around town.

I would like to write honest review about that had today. I ordered Korean Poke it's called "회덮밥" The reason why I'm write is not complaining about their food. It's about something that I want them to change about the menu that I ate. There were big size of tuna, salmon + other sea food on it. But it was very uncomfortable to eat. Tuna and salmon are too big. I want them to cut it almost half size. But keep the amount. They put spring max vegetables A LOT. I'm not complaining about it. In 회덮밥, because people mix with chojang sauce with rice, the sauce goes on your face and near mouth everywhere. I had to keep using the tissue to wipe it off. I want them to cut it with decent small pieces. ( I had to bring super big bowl to mix those up. It's not a good choice if you like to take it out ) 3.The balance between rice and vegi, is not good. It would have been much better if they put less vegi and add more rice. I couldn't find the rice when I mixed it in the BIG bowl.

Taste was good. But the small things like this should be considered for them to be the better restaurant.

(If you would like to eat separately rice, sea food and vegies ?...
