Mr J's Pizza Etc — Restaurant in Courtenay

The little storefront offers big flavour.

I have been skeptical to try this place since moving here. I'm glad that I did though. Got a vegetarian pizza and a cosmos pizza. Impressed by both options. A pizza is only as good as the crust and Mr. J dances on the line between thin and regular style which I perfect. Not to doughy and not to this that it flops over.

Also if you like Donaire, this place is one of the few in the valley. Definately satisfied an itch I've had for a long time.

Wow, what a disappointment! It was my first experience with Mr. J's. I picked up 2 pizzas, which took longer than expected. Now I realize why they took so long: they were left in the oven too long and were both quite overcooked, with a dry, tasteless crust. I ordered from Islander Pizza a couple weeks ago....no comparison! Theirs was delicious, one of the best crusts I've ever had! Sorry to the friendly staff at Mr. J's, but as they say, you don't get a second chance to make a first...
