100% RECOMMENDED! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by the warm and energetic Ji In (I hope I got her name right!). She was not only friendly and welcoming but also incredibly professional—her charisma stood out instantly and made us feel right at home. My husband and I were visiting for the first time, and within minutes, we were already talking about how amazing it would be to have someone like her on our own team. She truly set the tone for a fantastic experience.
We visited during lunchtime, and the food arrived in about 10–12 minutes—perfect timing. Now to the meal: the portions were spot on. I came in absolutely starving, thinking I’d finish everything easily, but I was pleasantly surprised at how satisfying and filling it all was.
We had the shishtawouk platter, which comes with a choice of rice or fries. The combination of the chicken (juicy and tender), garlic sauce, and rice brought an explosion of flavour that made every bite delightful. The garlic sauce? Absolutely bomb! Though I do wish they had served a bit more of it on the side.
The tabbouleh was fresh, tangy and served in the perfect portion to balance out the main dish. And let me just say—the pita and hummus were a dream. They complemented each other like a soft breeze on a warm summer day. I usually find hummus bland, but theirs completely changed my mind. It was rich, flavorful and impossible to stop eating. The portion was generous for one—definitely more than I could finish in one sitting—so I happily took the rest home to enjoy later.
Overall, the entire experience was wonderful. I’ll definitely be going back to try more dishes (especially the fries next time), but the hummus and pita are a...
Read moreHas anyone eaten at Kababji Lebanese Cuisine at 530 Portland Street, in Dartmouth before? They ARE the same owners as the Burnside location. If not I highly recommend. I ordered on Door Dash, and the food was hot and tasted absoutely fresh. I got the Chicken Shawarma plate with rice , I got an order of hummus for free for ordering ocer $20, and some lentil rice. The Shawarma plate is a little different than I am used to, but it was outstanding. The hummus was delicious. The pita was fresh. The Tabbouleh was absolutely delicious. The Lebanese rice was amazing. The Shawarma was absolutely delicious. It comes topped with both dill pickles and pickled turnip and of course toum. The servings of each item on the Shawarma plate were VERY generous. easily twice to 3 times the place at MMM.
The Lentil rice was the best I have had from any place I have ordered out at yet (though I have not tried every restaurant ...yet). It is not mushy and slimy like another restaurant that some people seem to love (I dont want to name names of other restaurants, but I do not love that restaurant at all. lol) The hummus is so creamy and perfectly to my tastes. Topped with olive oil , chicken peas and diced tomatoes. My experience today with Kababji Lebanese Cuisine was Phenomenal. They took great care in presentation and packaging. and of course the food prep itself. I now want to try to eating in because I just know it would be mind blowing.
I hope all that try this restaurant have the same experience I...
Read moreHave tried this spot twice now. I wanted to love it, as the reviews all seem to be great. I’ve gotten take out both times. Maybe I should try eating in the restaurant and see if that makes a difference. I don’t like that the ingredients stated on the menu are not what you actually get when u receive your food. Example; Fattoush salad states “lettuce”, cucumber, tomatoe, red onion and sumac dressing. When I got it there was absolutely no lettuce, there was a bunch of green, red, & yellow pepper chunks in it. There were no fried pita chips on top like in alllll the other review pics on here. It was slightly soggy. I inquired and the girl at the counter said the salads are all premade. When I order a salad, I would hope that it’s being freshly made so it is crisp and ingredients should match what the menu states. The Chicken Shawarma wrap again had ingredients that I wasn’t told were even in it. There was hot peppers and French fries in it that were not mentioned in the ingredients. The whole thing was so wet and soggy. The grease was dripping out of the foil wrap and all over, the paper wrap was also soaked. The fries that were in it were soaked and soggy, i had to pick them out and discard. Was not a great experience. Didn’t enjoy the food either time. Not sure I will be going back for...
