We went here for dinner on a Sunday night for Halifax Burger Bash 2024. Out of the top 3 that appealed to us, my hubby chose the Tilted Tap bar and grill for their offering, The Tapplenator Burger: a 6 oz. chuck beef patty topped with house made apple chutney, caramelized onions, aged Gouda, double smoked bacon, arugula and an onion ring on a toasted garlic brioche bun and fries. We had a choice of mayo Dijon aioli or gravy on the side, so we took one of each to share. Let me tell you, this is a real banger of a burger, and the other food coming out of the kitchen looked good too. Hats off to the kitchen staff who were churning it out (the burgers were coming out of the kitchen like crazy. We figured we counted at least 50 in the time we were eating) and front of house who were holding it down with a lot of demand. Great service by an obviously well run team. We were told the goal for this year’s BB is 3000 units, so let’s help them meet (meat lol) that goal! In addition to the burger being absolutely delicious, the gravy and aioli were both superb with the fries. They have a great promotion running with Garrison and pushed the Win Beer For a Year contest (hubby thinks they may seriously underestimated his abilities) and on top of that, they gave us a coupon to save some money on a return visit when the Burger Bash melee is over. That’s a clever marketing move! This spot in downtown Dartmouth is modestly sized, but there’s lots of room at the bar, and has a comfortable, neighbourhood vibe with decent decor and is very neat and clean. We will definitely go back for another...
Read moreA bunch of us Albertans stopped here to kill some time and have a few drinks as we were part of the recent Lacrosse Nationals being held in Nova Scotia. Walked in with 18 people and the servers quickly accommodated us by pushing tables and chairs together. They did a fantastic job to make sure that the drinks kept coming as it was unlikely they were staffed for a mid afternoon Monday rush lol. All the food came out really close together and it was all delicious!!! We played 3 more times at the arena close by so guess what…my wife and I plus a few others were there all week pretty much and enjoyed copious amounts of beverages (the martinis are deadly), the food was amazing and everything we tried was perfect. The Tapis burger…whoa…unbelievable!! So if you haven’t already had their burger make sure you treat yourself to one. And the staff was always welcoming, friendly, and fast!! The waitress even remembered my drink and had brought it with the menus after the first time we were there. Anyway, 4 visits to this fantastic pub over the course of the week and all times were great! The food is definitely...
Read moreMust admit that in the two years I have lived in this area of Dartmouth, and the two years this place has been open, I've been curious to try it. I wrongfully assumed it may be a dingier pub bc of the reputation of the nearby bars and pubs. It is not like those at all! Very clean, modern, simple atmosphere but with some nice touches to bring the feel up a lot more than expected. Seating it seems like for maybe 30+ with wooden tables, a long bar taking up half the dining area, a VLT room enclosed off to one side, and I didn't go back to the rear to see if there actually could be more seating. Anyway, prompt friendly service. At 11am on a Saturday, it wasn't busy, with just a few other customers. Noticed a table of six was reserved, assuming for a brunch group coming in. I tried their Taps breakfast sandwich, which was very good. Lots of bacon, melted gooey cheese, fried egg, slice of tomato with an aioli, on a toasted English muffin. Side of seasoned frozen home fries, but cooked well. Fruit garnish. That plus coffee came to $14 after tax, and I was full. ...
