On August 23, 2023, I attended the Cactus Club Café at 7907 - 120th St. in North Delta with my friends for dinner. I ordered the chicken lettuce wraps as my meal and specifically requested to the server no peanuts, as I had Just been to the dentist and had new crowns and my teeth were still sensitive. My meal was delivered and I did not notice that they were peanuts in my meal until I bit down on one. I immediately got the server and told her that I had specifically requested to have no peanuts in my in my meal. She apologized and made me another one. It should also be noted that the other two people at the table who had ordered lettuce wraps received their dinners with no peanuts. At this point, as everybody was finished their meal my new meal was wrapped up to go. The server was very apologetic, she took full responsibility for the error, claiming it was the kitchen. As the tooth where I bit down on felt uncomfortable one of my friends at the restaurant gave me some dental floss. Upon my arrival at home, the tooth was still bothering me. Upon further inspection I noticed that my crown at the back of my mouth was chipped. I Immediately contacted the manager at the Cactus Club on 120th St. in Delta who referred my case to guest services Head Office. I was then contacted by Rebecca from Head Office who requested records from my dentist which I provided supporting the fact of my broken crown. I was then contacted by Emily from guest services who advised me that they are not taking responsibility for the crown as accidents happen. Imagine if I had of been allergic to peanuts and I was dead because of it and their explanation would be accidents happen seriously? On October 11, 2023 I phoned Emily to discuss this matter further as I wanted to elevate this to a manager. I was advised that there was no one willing to listen to my complaint and it would not be reviewed by anybody else. She also refused to provide her reasoning in writing, provide her last name, her managers name or give any sort of type of customer service. She just kept on reiterating that she was sorry for what happened but they were not willing to do any thing to be accountable for it as accidents happen. At this point I am out a brand new crown and apparently cactus club believes that accidents happen and that the customer should bear the brunt of the cost of their errors. What kind of restaurant doesn’t appreciate their customers let alone even have a manager phone to discuss this further. Why are they so afraid to put their position...
Read moreWhen we arrived, there was a few people already standing inside waiting. We waited for a good minute before a host came to the front and took our name down. There was literally only 4 cars in the parking lot and 2 tables sitting in the lounge. The restaurant looked empty and No one was on the patio. The host said our table would be a few minutes. We waited over 5 minutes while the host just walked around and left the desk area. A few of the managers and leaders walked passed us and just smiled. I asked again how long our table would be when the host finally came back and she looked confused and frazzled. Finally a leader or manager came by and spent another 2/3 minutes staring at the screen before they sat us in the restaurant area. We waited close to 10 minutes before getting sat in an empty restaurant. If there were reservations the restaurant was waiting for, then they should have told us that instead of telling us its going to be a few minutes. As we walked through the restaurant, there was empty and unset tables everywhere and a few staff members were sitting at tables that could be used to seat guests. Our server took our order and my sister and I split the burger and yam fries. I asked for one extra sauce on the side. When our food arrived I did not get my requested sauce until 2 minutes later when my fries were eaten already, so that was a waste. I would expect when someone is splitting an item, that you provide them with the same portion size of food and accompanied items. When we asked for a container for my aunts meal, the server just brought us the bill and didn't ask us for tea or dessert. We were celebrating a birthday but when we just got the bill, we felt we were being kicked out. Looking at the bill, we were charged for an extra sauce that we didn't order as we split the item, so the kitchen should have portioned the dipping sauce on 2 plates instead of charging us for another one. Alot of restaurants, including Earl's, don't charge guests for dipping sauces especially when they are part of the meal. This was a horrible experince from...
Read moreMy husband and I visited Cactus Club Cafe on a lively Friday night, and it was an absolute treat! From the moment we walked in, the vibrant atmosphere, upbeat music, and buzzing crowd made it clear that this was the place to be. The ambience is perfect for a fun night out, whether you're with a partner or a group of friends.
We kicked off the evening with cocktails my husband went for a negroni, and I had a dry martini. Both drinks were expertly made, setting the tone for the rest of the night. After that, we switched to wine, choosing the Nebbiolo G.D. Vajra from their impressive collection. It was a great choice and paired well with the food.
For starters, we couldn't resist trying the Chili Citrus Calamari and the Szechuan Lettuce Wraps. Both were absolutely fantastic and highly recommended. The calamari was crispy and full of flavor, and the lettuce wraps packed a delightful kick from the Szechuan spices. But, we also ordered the Truffle Fries, which were good, but could've used a bit more of that signature truffle flavor.
For mains, we went with the Tuna Poke Bowl, and wow, was it delicious! The tuna was so fresh, and the combination of textures with the avocado, crispy onions, and flavorful sauces made every bite a burst of delight. If you're a poke lover, this dish will not disappoint.
We finished off the night with the Six Layer Chocolate Slice. While the presentation was beautiful and it looked promising, it didn't quite meet our expectations. We were hoping for something moist and rich, but it was a bit drier than anticipated. Still, it didn’t take away from the overall fantastic dining experience.
The service at Cactus Club Cafe was spot on our servers were attentive and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the evening. Overall, the whole vibe, from the food to the energy, was fantastic, and we will definitely be back to explore more of the menu. If you're looking for a lively place to enjoy great food and drinks, this is the spot! Perfect for a night out with friends or a...
