Update: Aug. 10/25
We love their Indian menu but recently a community member posted positive comments about the Fish & Chips that they still offer after a change of ownership and branding. It’s not listed on the menu but there’s a sign outside the front door offering it.
Tonight we gave it a try: the prices are excellent (2pc/$15.75, 1/pc $9.99) for the portion of fish. The cod is lightly battered, crispy and not overcooked. The fries look undercooked yet are crispy outside, soft inside and lightly seasoned. Coleslaw is a nice portion, tartar sauce and ketchup come to the table in tall bottles. No little cups here! There was a slight fishiness that wasn’t strong enough to be off-putting and not noticeable when using tartar sauce. You could also ask for a lemon wedge.
We wouldn’t normally order F&C in an Indian restaurant (we love their regular menu) and will stick to that. Suggest giving the F&C a try and form your own opinion.
Update June 20/23:
Have returned a few times, today was to meet a friend for lunch. We both ordered the Non Veggie Combo $14.49 and shared the Veggie Pakoras $7.49.
Light, crispy and not heavy on the batter….simply delightful!
First time visit for dinner with friends who had been before. Located close by with good, local recommendations had us wanting to try and it did not disappoint. Prices are good, considering the rising cost of food.
We (2 couples) ordered separately and we had enough left over for 1 meal at home.
We ordered: Veggie Pakora ($6.99), Kadahi Chicken, Garlic Naan included (L)- $19.50, Palau Rice (L)- $8.99
They also brought Papadum to the table.
Friends ordered: Mix Veggies (reg)- $13.99 and Mango Chicken (reg) included rice and naan- $13.99
This cozy restaurant used to be a fish & chip joint and still offers it’s menu as well, interior has not been updated.
Service provided was good considering the 1 woman (Salani) also tended the takeout counter doing a fairly busy takeout service on a Friday evening.
Located in a small strip mall with...
Read moreAn update to my earlier review. Ordered take-out for 4 and it was another lovely meal (chef's kiss). The prawn biryani had a generous amount of large prawns and came with a refreshing (and equally generous) serving of raita. The alu gobi was lovely. The paneer in the mutter paneer was tender (nothing worse than rubbery paneer, trust me!). Both vegetable dishes came with naan. Although we ordered everything on the mild side, the heat was still a little intense for a couple of us. I have nothing but good things to say about this little neighbourhood gem. I hope they keep up the good work of serving good food.
Original post: Just had a lovely dinner at this neighbourhood gem. Although I have ordered their samosas (potato-pea and chicken are highly recommended!), chicken, fish and veggie pakoras for family tea-time get together, I've never had dinner here. Tonight we had the Fish Pakors (starter) Prawn Makhani, Chicken Korma, (both come with complimentary naan or rice), Aloo Gobi and Lacha Prantha (the kitchen sent us a complimentary naan and rice). The curries were perfectly spiced and flavorful. The Aloo Gobi was a tiny bit spicier than expected, but still delicious. All were delicious and the service was amazing. I'll definitely be back! Give them a try next time you're in the...
Read moreLast weekend we hosted a birthday for 17 people and our kids wanted butter chicken, normally I make this at home but I was not able this time around, so I looked this place up and thought to give it a try. The owner advised I come in for myself to order directly, this way I can be sure of how much to order sizing wise. When I got there the owner and the young lady were very friendly and even though they were busy they each took time out to give me the best option. I explained what I needed for the butter chicken and naan and they delivered 120%!! We had more than enough quantity wise and the owner even suggested that I don't have to order that much but I was paranoid of running out so ordered additional and he was right we had left overs. I also asked for a thick gravy and that the proportion of the meat n sauce be equal because you all know how it feels to dive into a dish and just see sauce , he assured me not to worry. The butter chicken was rich n creamy, lots of meat and tasty, no complains. He also threw in extra naan. For a new joint I'm confident they will thrive and wish them success in Keep up the good work, I can't wait to try more dishes. The prices are reasonable, the food fresh the...
