I had a craving for spaghetti and meet balls, and when turning into Swiss chalet I spotted Rossano's Italian restarant. From the outside view the restaurant didn't look very popular because of its lack of exterior care, and lack of cars in the parking lot, but I thought you can't really go wrong with spaghetti and meat balls. That was where I was wrong; The waiter was nice, I ordered a drink she helped me pick and a small spaghetti and meatball for $14.95. Less then ten minutes later, I look up from my something I was reading to find the spaghetti I ordered in a bowel that can with stand about as much as a standard coffee mug. I was in complete shock, the waiter asked if I wanted cheese, I said yes just starring at the the smallest bowel of spaghetti I have ever seen thinking where the hell is the rest of the spaghetti?? Lol I looked at the waiter and said "this is it?" She said "yes" "I said "how is this suppose to fill me?" She said "do you want the large" I said " This was $15 dollars, and then I apologized to the waiter and told her that I know it's not her fault. She than offered to get the manager and I told her there is no point, This is what they sell. And got up and left without touching or paying for the meal. i did not leave because of cost, I left because I was deeply insulted. I left thinking what is this world coming to? Do I have to ask to see the size of the plate before I order anything now? And for gods sack it's spaghetti and meat balls! Ground beef, canned tomato sauce and spices the cheapest thing to make on the menu. I'm only 110 pounds myself, how are they suppose to fill...
Read moreWhen I looked online for Italian Restaurants, I noticed that this restaurant had a 4.6 review. I should have read the reviews before we went there. When I arrived, the sign was very dim and looked closed because the blinds were closed. The wait staff was great. The food that advertised is not Italian. The menu seemed very tasty. We were offered bread that was brought to our table. We each received 1 piece. While waiting for our dinner, I noticed that the place was extremely loud. The music that was playing was obnoxious to the loudness of the other customers. I ordered the Steak Rossano. When it was brought to the table, the steak looked great but was very thin. Upon tasting the steak, the steak itself was bland, no taste but the toppings were delicious. It came with side vegetables, the carrots and zucchini were julienne but green beans were added but not julienne. It just looked odd. Upon tasting them, it was very bland without taste. It was a very average restaurant. If you are looking for a quiet dinner, this is not the place. It does not deserve a 4.6. That number represents a superior dinner. I did not have even a...
Read moreThis review is for the Dieppe location but will try the Mountain Road location in future.
It’s been the 3rd time that I have eaten at Rossanos in the past 1 month. The food quality has been down graded. The chicken Caesar salad leaves of the lettuce is very limp and no crispiness to it. I don’t think they are washing their lettuce or doing what they used to do to maintain that perfect crunch that a salad normally has. The grilled chicken is almost always perfect in every dish and I have no complaints on that food item.
The second item is the Jared’s lasagna. It used to be delicious but yesterday’s dish had clumps of crushed tomatoes for the sauce and the flavouring was very dull. I used to go their quite frequently, although every expensive, it was a treat I really enjoyed. Very disappointed that they do not put any effort in making their food anymore, it has sadly downgraded for some reason.
I felt that because it used to be so goo and the price you pay for the meals that a negative review was a warranted.
Here s hoping they bring back the quality of the food at...
