RUDE, THREATENING STAFF – NOT SAFE FOR FAMILIES IMO
I recently learned that the man we saw staring at my 10-year-old daughter’s backside (taking a double take) was actually a Boston Pizza delivery driver. This was witnessed by myself and my family. When he was confronted and told to stop staring, he began yelling at us. At the time, I assumed he was just a disruptive customer, so I responded as any protective parent would. Not knowing he was staff, I continued to return to the restaurant afterwards for business meals, spending a lot of money. Most recently, I brought my adult daughter (who is visibly Indigenous and has a facial cleft lip and speech impediment) for a meal. I also inquired about a credit I had previously been promised, since a child’s meal had once been forgotten in a takeout order. The male server that evening was extremely rude, dismissive, and confrontational. He had a tone and then refused to acknowledge me when I tried to place an order. As a survivor of domestic violence, this behavior felt intimidating and triggering—especially given his size and aggressive tone. Instead of professionalism, I was left feeling harassed and unsafe. The assistant manager, Kat, then approached with a confrontational tone. I told her I did not want the server near me again, as I felt threatened. I admit my words were reactive, but my reaction was in response to being treated with hostility in what should have been a safe dining environment. Instead of addressing the staff’s conduct, Kat told me I “cause trouble,” denied what had happened with the delivery driver, and asked me to leave. I left without further incident, and my daughter finished her meal while I waited in the car. Later, another female staff member accused me of recording when I was simply checking my phone. The overall hostility and intimidation from staff was shocking.

After I posted this review, Kat used her personal time to search me on Facebook and sent me messages until 3:23 a.m. She called me a liar, threatened to contact my “work,” and insulted me. She also made discriminatory remarks, assuming my daughter required a support worker.and that I was the community living worker.
This experience has left me feeling harassed, intimidated, and discriminated against both inside the restaurant and on my personal social media afterwards.

Our party of 16 called ahead to inquire about seating by the water and were told to come in and see what could be arranged. We anrrived and spent quite a while dealing with a clueless associate to see how best we could be accommodated outside. We were open to splitting up the group and waiting to be seated as tables became available. The associate being unable to figure this out brought in the manager on duty, Jocelyn.
Jocelyn didn’t ask what we wanted, how any of us there were, or find out how flexible we were about seating. She just showed up and informed us that we had two choices - sit at a long table at the back of the restaurant (inside) or not be served. We tired to explain we wanted to sit outside, we had seen vacant tables outside, all we got was that she had no servers to wait on us if we sat outside at the vacant tables - our choices remained to sit inside at the back, or leave.
We were not a loud or unruly group. Our ages ranged from 4 to 60. She seemed to have assumed something about us without even speaking with us, and approached the interactive very negatively. Her comments about not having tables outside to accommodate us made no sense either as I have a photo (taken 5 minutes after we left) which shows the number of vacant tables onside that could easily have accommodated us.
My family and I were first time visitors to Huntsville and this was both a very poor example of hospitality and a very negative exposure to the local community. Ironically, an immigrant family-run restaurant further down the road showed us hospitality and warmth, which apparently the “Canadian” manager couldn’t. Being a visible minority myself, I certainly felt the racist vibes.
I’m from Toronto and have been to different Boston Pizza locations around the GRA and have not experienced this type of service before. Huntsville should definitely re-think whom they hire / retain to manage their location if customer service is to...
Read moreAvoid Went for dinner and drinks on New Year's Night. We decided to sit at bar side and order drinks and appetizers first before actual entree. We ordered 2 orders of wings and the pizza poutine along with alcohol drinks. It took almost 30mins for the wings to come. They arrived being just warm not hot. We sent the wings back and the poutine came out next(at least this was hot). By the time the "new" wings came out we had actually finished the poutine (this was now more then 45mins from when we first ordered both the wings and poutine). Things went downhill quickly from there.. the second set was actually cold to the touch along with it was our original side celery and the same plate. We told the waitress (I had to walk over to the bar with a chicken wing in a napkin) we gave up at this point and asked for the bill. We were not going to wait for a 3rd order of wings and due to the length that the apps took we were not going to wait to order dinner. We have zero issues regarding slow service/poor service if a place is busy or someone is training. This was not the case. There was only a handful of tables in the restaurant at this particular time (530pm). My other issue how it was handled. The wings were complemented by the waitress but no apologies or even comments from the manager (not sure if he was even told by our waitress or he was just being oblivious to the situation). This then goes back to my my comment of a restaurant with only a handful of tables. We actually watched the manager sit at a bar stool and talk to people at the bar and then watched him as he turned around to talk to the people at the table behind us. This all occurred while we complained about the length of time for the order to arrive then the 2 set of wings being cold. Not once did he even ask how the food/ service was to us. Maybe some customer service/ food handling should be brought to attention with the next...
