Am staying in Vancouver area for work / vacation this year .
As a person who is in the construction business now but was raised in the agricultural industry in a family of 11 , I have always appreciated good food 😊
I give this restaurant, the food ,the service ,the people who operate and the atmosphere a SOLID......10 out of 10 !
This is the 1st Iranian restaurant I've ever ate at . I am from central Ontario about 1 hour and 40 minuets west of Toronto .So as a guy who comes from an area that is mostly Germans and Dutch and farmers , I've found this to be an enjoyable experience eating here!
When I go back to Toronto and Ottawa ,I will be sure to check out the Persian restaurants there .
Also the wallpaper ,I could spent hours looking at it ! The historian in me enjoys that
Coming from a family who owns farms, and is in the construction business and being involved in the developments of real estate myself, it is very fascinating to me to look at the wall paper ,if one has the mind to do so ,it is very easy to study the pictures and basically see the history of that city and province .
Call me eccentric, ha! But !
For me that's an enjoyable a hobby.
Iran has a very very rich history ,which, for me , one of the topics I always enjoyed in school and still do, is learning and studying ,in my spare time, the histories of other countries and cultures .
Tho not extremely religious myself at the moment, being raised in a Christian home, the history of Persia plays a big role and setting in that area of my life as well.
So yes ! The pictures on the wall paper , I enjoy looking at it ,and imagining a different time and place in the world .
I've never been to Iran ,but ,I think it would be fun and educational to go !
All in all ,a very great dining experience and look forward to many more visits!
And I love the music they play! Don't understand the words, as my language is limited still but I still enjoy the beats !
And also, as mentioned above, the service is great ! The people who operate it are nice and very welcoming .The cooks make good food ! And the waitresses are very professional!
And they have the little flags they give out which I have a growing collection of 🙂
I will be back many times! And in closing, when my family comes to visit ,of which there are quite few between my parents,,siblings and in-laws, I will bring them here.
And one more note , I've seen a few negative reviews .
Now I dunno ,maybe that was their experience .
For me,the experience was nothing but positive.
As I mentioned ,this is the 1st Iranain restaurant I've ever ate at ,so I don't know what Iranian restaurants around the world are like.
But I know when I have food that I like, and the food here ,I love it !
And the customer service /staff ,for me ,I have been here 3 times, and each time ,they have been nothing short of welcoming ,pleasant, and amazing to deal with .
I will say this, before I came to Vancouver I never dealt with a lot of Iranian people.
So far, here I have found every interaction to be very pleasant .
The language is a little bit of barrier at times sure ,but minor inconvenience !
I am learning !
So ,take the negative reviews how you wish, but ,if you haven't been at this place, let me assure you ,as a person, who neither knows ,or isn't related to the owners ,but strictly passing through, it is definitely a place I would recommend to check out ,if your in...

I was really excited to visit Abadan Lounge and was very eager to try it. The first time I planned to go, Google said they were open, but when I arrived, the staff inside were busy taking photos of the food and didn’t open the door, saying they were closed despite what was listed on Google.
I went again and ordered falafel. I noticed something that I wanted to share. I believe a restaurant, especially when it’s newly opened, can stand out with some creativity or a unique signature. One of these things is the presentation of the food, and what makes a sandwich special is a unique sauce or special bread. My sandwich didn’t have anything unique from the restaurant as a signature. It was just falafel, pickles, tomatoes, onions, parsley, cheese, and mushrooms put together.
Having a unique element in a sandwich from the restaurant would give me more motivation to try it again.
In any case, as an Iranian, I wouldn’t feel right giving a low rating to a newly opened Iranian business in its first few weeks. I find that unfair. I wish you success and hope that everything gets better and that your business...
Read moreWe recently visited Abadan in North Vancouver to try their traditional foods, but unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. We ordered the vegetable samosa, bhandari sandwich, and falafel sandwiches.
The vegetable samosa lacked flavor and was nothing like what we’ve enjoyed in our home country. It didn’t have much taste at all, which was a letdown.
The bhandari sandwich was another disappointment. It contained only a small amount of sausage, which is odd because we expected it to be filled with more. The overall quality was poor, and it was bland. Even the falafel, though fresh, lacked flavor. It was missing the depth of taste that we were hoping for, which made the entire meal underwhelming.
Even in Vancouver, there are other sandwich shops, which I won’t name to avoid advertising, where the quality is much better. When you eat a bhandari sandwich there, you really feel like it's an authentic bhandari sandwich. I wish Abadan could increase their quality to meet those...
