The cuisine was excellent. The sashimi was delicious and very special. Try the Spicy Tuna and Salmon Sashimi, it's highly recommended. It has a distinct flavour and is served in a sizable serving. Godzilla roll was very tasty as well as the Fantastic roll. Crispy and excellent spring rolls. Hot sake and beers, were up to expectations. I'm rating the service lower than the food, Not because anyone was unprofessional or rude, but rather because there is a significant gap and potential for improvement when compared to other competitors. They can help you feel more relaxed, check in on you more frequently, and make sure everyone is taken care of and has what they need. I didn't like receiving the appetisers with my meal either, and I like restaurants that follow the standard order of appetisers followed by the main course, and so on. I want to emphasise that this is a proposal to enhance the service, keeping in mind that we were likely the last customers and that the personnel may have been worn out from a long day. The surroundings was another drawback. It was far too dark, and I thought the interior could use some updating for a more contemporary, clean design. Overall a good experience because of the high food quality. Pros: - Excellent food quality. - Appropriate portion sizes. - Fair prices. Cons: - The quality of the service fell short of that of other similar places. - interior was too dark and a bit old.

I love sushi but I was really in the mood for something lighter, so when we went to Sushi Town with my family I decided to order an Avocado Salad. I only managed to photograph mine and our daughter's food this time. Featured here: Veggie Gyoza Dynamite Roll Avocado Salad Even though our daughter is a meat eater, when it comes to gyoza she prefers to order Veggie gyoza. The ones at Sushi Town seem to be her favourite out of all the restaurants we've been to. Dynamite Roll is a pretty standard item, and they do it decently at this restaurant. At any sushi restaurant, the sushi is obviously the main attraction; however, I have found that when it comes to salad, sushi restaurants make them better than a lot of other places. (In my humble opinion) I think it's mostly about the dressing. There's something about Japanese style salad dressings that just works better for my taste buds than Western style dressings. This Avocado salad was nothing to scoff at. It was refreshing, tasty, and light yet at the same time still filling. In the past, when I wanted to eat light at a Japanese restaurant, I would just order sashimi and anything else that didn't have rice in it. With salads as tasty as this Avocado salad was though, I can eat lighter and healthier without compromising on flavour! Service: Good Parking: Plentiful and free Location: 1227 Marine Dr., North Vancouver

Sushi town used town used to be our favourite sushi restaurant, especially this location and we have been consistently coming back for years. However, the past couple of times we've come, it's been quite disappointing. Their sushi rolls have been pretty consistent and the presentation of their food has honestly improved but we noticed their portions for their dishes such as the katsu and teriyaki chicken have greatly decreased in portion size from before. I also found a large fish bone in my tuna I choked on and not even the slightest compensation was attempted to be made! We aren't sure if it's just because we've tried so many other sushi restaurants at this point but their food just isn't as tasty in comparison anymore. It's a lot of little things as well such as the fact they charge for asking for extra sauce for their spicy salmon sashimi while some other places do not. They still have easy parking, good service, waiters that check up on you often and comfortable spaces for both small and large groups alike but unfortunately that is not enough to convince us to come back again.

  • update! Increasing to three stars for their resolution of this issue. My friends and I received a refund for our meal. the restaurant has expressed a sincere apology for our experience and have taken our feedback into consideration. The manager, Henny, mentioned that they have been retraining some of the serving staff in light of our review as well as checking to ensure the kitchen is maintaining hygiene and food safety standards. I hope this never happens to anyone again.*

We came for sushi and left with food poisoning. Their service during our visit and subsequently after have left us unable to trust their food or service for a long time to come.

My friends and were craving a ladies night sushi dinner date this past Sunday. They were busy that evening so when we arrived we put our names and phone numbers down and were told we might have to wait 30 minutes for a table for 3. That was fine because one of our friends was on her way. We left to sit in the car for 15-20 minutes and when we came back we saw that they had seated people on the list after us without calling us first.

Once we were seated everything was fine, we ordered and received our food without issue. I ordered 2 sushi cones (spicy tuna, spicy chopped scallop), takoyaki and green salad. My friends had spicy agedashi tofu, beef teriyaki, rice, edamame, and miso soups.

As we were finishing our food and chatting amongst ourselves, the waiter came by and dropped off the bill and brought the machine - didn't ask if we wanted anything else and interrupted our conversation. I was surprised by the abruptness - it was only 7:30 and no where near last call.

Fast forward to later that same night- One of my friends began experiencing stomach pains and vomiting, the other one - let's just say she spent most of the night in the washroom and I had nausea and stomach pains through the night into the next day. We called the next day to let them know this happened to us (the three of us did not have a meal together anytime in the days prior to this) and the lady who answered the phone hung up on her as soon as she said food poisoning. She phoned back right away and they denied hanging up on her the first time and claimed there was no manager on duty that day and she'll have to call back tomorrow.

Terrible customer service overall and we will be submitting a claim to the health department to get this restaurant checked. My friends only ordered cooked food too so I'm very concerned about their...

I would give ZERO to this awful restaurant if I could. The DIRTIEST restaurant in North Vancouver. The staff are quite RUDE & ARROGANT. The toilets and washroom were FILTHY, yet in an attempt to disguise the disgusting situation, they have placed some chemical "deodorizer" that's way too overpowering to the extent that if your table's close is to the washrooms, you could be bothered with the strong smell. This was my first problem when I was initially seated close to the washrooms. When I asked to have a different table not close to the washrooms, the staff first REFUSED, bringing excuses such as, "we will be closing in about an hour and have already cleaned the tables in farther sections"!!! Then when I insisted, they gave me a table close to the entrance that was not cleaned at all and was sticky and messy! I took a photo; then when the waitress was brining my food, she had her THUMB IN MY SOUP and her WATCH and SLEEVE were touching my sushi! I could not help but to imagine what could have been on the watch or its strap or on her wrist, on the sleeves, the thumb and under its nail...or where her hands could have been in general!!! I asked to have a word with the manager, the rude waitress walked in anger, then I could hear her speaking loud in Chinese, then a very cold, indifferent, arrogant young Asian man approached me and identified himself as the manager. He was oblivious and evasive and did not care about the problem and said, "I can not do anything and PROBLEMS EXIST HERE BECAUSE THE ASIAN OWNER LIVES OVERSEAS AND DOES'NT CARE WHAT HAPPENS HERE"!!! Wow!!! I told him I will make sure all my friends and family and everyone else would be informed and have their sushi and whatever else they sell in much better restaurants that fortunately plenty exist on the North Shore and everywhere else in the lower mainland. Hope this review's helpful and would stop you from wasting your money on this dirty place that serves you more germs and bacteria than food along with carelessness and...

Their food is tasty. We were a hungry bunch, and ordered alot. Unfortunately, they decided to bring everything we ordered within the span of 5 minutes and there was no room on the table. Physically no room, and the waitresses kept bringing it, looking confused as to where to put the dishes they were trying to offload.

We got a little angry because there's no way we can eat all that food so quickly. We asked for the manager, I think his name is Henry. He started accusing us that it was our fault we ordered so much food, and what was he supposed to do about it? Apparently it's our responsibility to know that if we don't want all our food to come at once, we order a bit, then order more later.

We asked for a side table to put the excess food on while we tried to eat what was on the table. They said they have no extra tables and offered no solutions.

Even if the manager had a point about the amount ordered, his attitude was unprofessional, and did not offer anything in the way of alleviating the situation. He was dismissive and obstinate, just wanting the problem to go away without thinking it through. Inexperienced in customer relations. If you can't manage, get out of the kitchen!

It's a popular restaurant, so I suppose they really don't have to care about losing customers. And if you're wondering, yes we ordered alot but we didn't order too much, we ate everything.

2 Stars. Because 1 star for at least being civil, and 1 star earned for the...
