A Hidden Gem with Amazing Pie! Today, I had one of the best pieces of pie I’ve ever had, and I'm not even a huge fan of sweets or pies! I happened to be in the area and came to this charming, family-run restaurant after many years, and I’m so glad I did. I decided to take out for my daughters two pieces of pie: the banana cream topped with real whipped cream and the apple crumble. Both were absolutely incredible! The banana cream pie was rich and creamy, with a perfect balance of sweetness and real banana pieces and the apple crumble had the perfect texture, with a lovely oatmeal crust and perfectly spiced apples. The ingredients were clearly fresh and high-quality—definitely a treat for the taste buds. I was greeted by the owner and I asked them questions telling him I have not been there for years. He told me their pies were made in the house and I asked him about their dinner items and he told me they’re stripling steak is local and aged 35 days. Looking forward to trying The restaurant itself has such a quaint, cozy atmosphere, showcasing indigenous art and collectables. making it a perfect spot for a wonderful brunch and a treat for the kids. Aside from the amazing pies, they also offer a selection of local artisan hot sauces and jars of unique condiments for sale, which is a great touch. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area!

This is the real deal folks. Great diner fare within a historic setting, offering a cosy and convivial atmosphere. I immediately felt the warmth and charm of the place as I sat in a booth and was greeted by one of the amiable servers. She served me fresh coffee instantly. I sat back and admired the dark timbers and First Nations paraphernalia that adorned the walls. It was a sleepy Monday afternoon, with only the low hum of conversation between locals and clinking cutlery that could be discerned; bereft of loud music and gimmickery. I ordered the 'Tomahawk Beef Dip' sandwich, and it was exceptional. The French bread was fresh, with piles of succulent wafer-thin roast beef interspersed with swiss cheese. Eating this sandwich as is would be delicious enough, but soaking up the pot of jus with it, elevates this meal. The obligatory fries that accompany the sandwich were delicious in their own right too, perfectly crisp skin, with a fluffy interior. There is no better way to end this sublime meal than with a slice of pie and more coffee. My blueberry pie was exquisite. Tomahawk has exceptional food, and genial hospitality. It's very easy to reach and the perfect place to relax and feast after a day hiking the Capilano/Grouse area.

Saw the review on "You Gotta Eat Here" (over hyped) and promptly went to the restaurant to give it a try. Before I went I looked it up on the internet and noticed that the menu didn't have prices on it. That should have been my first clue. I went on a weekday morning at around 9:30am thinking there wouldn't be a long line-up which there wasn't so the service wasn't an issue.

I was mainly interested in their bacon which didn't look like the usual back or strip bacon and thought it had to be specially made, which it is. I ordered the Yukon breakfast and you get a generous portion but at $14 a plate it was overpriced and undervalued. The food wasn't bad but it wasn't memorable either. The bacon was the only hi-lite for me as it was tasty but you would be better off asking to purchase the raw sliced bacon and cooking breakfast at home.

The food was poorly arranged on the plate and didn't look appealing and the hashbrowns were disappointing. They tasted like they are processed and came straight out of a freezer bag and quite dry; certainly not fresh potatoes. Don't be fooled by their advertising "organic eggs and beef" thinking that other food items are organic because they aren't.

As for the decor it is filled with First Nations artifacts, masks and miniature totem poles that are in need of some serious dusting. Hopefully no dust balls fall into the customers' food. Some might find this eclectic but it made me question how clean they keep their kitchen and food storage. Please no Kitchen Nightmares. While the decor can be overlooked, the quality of the food can't be and more focus should be given to presentation and freshness.

As my server said: "they are known for their bacon" and that is true. As for other food items I have had better and for a lower price.

Sorry Tomahawk, you didn't make...

We were excited since it’s been around forever and our local group of five had never been so we were willing to wait for our table. We were having a pleasant breakfast but our server literally said to us after our quick breakfast “I don’t want to rush you but there is another group waiting” when we were finishing up our coffee and water when some of us went to use the washroom. This was after we tipped well and after no one came around to refill coffee and I had to ask twice (two different servers) for coffee to get a single refill (not multiple ones in our breakfast). Had the refill happened reasonably quickly then it wouldn’t have even taken more time to finish the cup. AND our group waited about half an hour to get our table and we were quite fast and a very polite and straightforward group. When we got to the front after being rushed, it wasn’t even busy anymore! How does she expect us to ever want to return getting that treatment? Of course you’re rushing us by saying that. She can ask herself if she would have said that to a bunch of white men trying to finish their coffee at the end of their meal? Unfortunately, she waited until after we tipped well to be rude. It may be that the other servers are not like her though. Let’s hope. But it left a bitter taste in our...
