De Dutch restaurant at the Sure Stay Best Western is a treat. Mark greets you with a menu and a smile. His family (his 2 boys) work there on weekends, providing friendly, excellent customer service. The orange juice was cold and the coffee was hot. We had the Original Dutch Pannekoeken, like a pancake and a crepe had a Dutch cousin. There are a lot of choices. We had the regular "Meat Lovers" and thete is an option for a small, which we went with the "Fruit Topping Cheesecake", with strawberries. The secret is to roll it up and you get all the delicious flavours in a forkful. One morning, we split the Amsterdam Eggs Benny, on English muffin with ham. The Dutch cheese gave it a nice flavour. The hollandaise sauce was thin and the egg was pouched a perfect medium. We noticed several return customers and people were very famiar with Mark. He gave an excellent recommendation on the city bus system which we took for an adventure. The bus stop is only 1/2 block from the motel in either direction. Whether you go early morning or mid afternoon, there are people enjoying the little cafe.

A lovely and satisfying brunch experience. They serve real fresh squeezed orange juice that’s very refreshing and the food was delicious. The Dutch Pannekoek is a must get here and you can choose whether you want to pair it with savoury toppings like eggs, sausage, hash, Debacon, etc. or sweet toppings like fruit and cream. Not only is the size of these Dutch pancakes amazingly large, but the taste is even better! They are soft, squishy, and chewy. Extremely satisfying and pleasantly filling. The stroop syrup they give you is tasty too like a molasses tasting syrup. Would definitely return for more Pannekoek.

My coworker and I, decided to treat ourselves for a Friday work breakfast. We figured why not Dedutch they're always good.. until today.. we ordered the Debonk breakfast platter. If we knew it was going to cost $22.50 a person we could have bought the ingredients for cheaper than 1 order and made it at work ourselves, with less grease, bigger eggs and more hashbrowns.. not to me thin the slice of toast cut in half. After this experience, the next time I eat or order Dedutch is very few and far between if at all. Do your research for yummy efficient breakfast places. *if we're able to post a pic, I would *

A rare treat to find (what USED to be called 'The Dutch Pancake House'. Now just 'De Dutch'.) About 20 years ago, there were plenty of them around, but now, just a select few. These places are always packed. Best to get there as soon as they open and avoid the line-up(s). Line-ups...because they have a long-standing tradition of superior quality food, delivered to yer table in quick-time. I ate at the one on Capilano Road this morning. I haven't been to one since the one I always went to in Victoria...closed. Long ago. And they picked up...right where they left off since I was last there. OUTSTANDING...and I mean OUTSTANDING food...EQUALLY OUTSTANDING server service. The staff was ever attentive to my requests...and 0 delays in bringing anything I wanted. Very pleasant staff, who were constantly smiling. I rarely...hand out a 10...to any restaurant. But just like I did 20 years ago for The Dutch Pancake House...they get a full 10/10 rating fer todays offering of food and service. Oh and ULTRA CLEAN and TIDY surroundings. They're a small entity...but a TOTAL gem in a huge city. I sure wish the corporate ownership would consider opening one or two on Vancouver Island...where I live. So...if you want outstanding food, service and atmosphere...get to this place! YOU WILL DEFINITELY NOT...BE DISAPPOINTED. (Appropriately priced for the Greater...

My family and I went there on Father's day (only because we couldn't get a table anywhere else). We had a terrible experience.

The staff (I'm gonna be fair, I'm just talking about 2 of them, not the rest) were rude and unprofessional. As my sister, my nephew and I were sitting, she pushed my nephew away so she can put the cutlery on the table! She was mad! Then the other girl came and was rushing us to order even though we said we're waiting for our parents to park their car so we will just order the drinks first. But she was rushing and pushing us to order the food. We were under so much pressure. We didn't even have time to properly look at the menu. Can't describe how unprofessional she was. We waited for a while and then as I had time to think, I decided to change my dish from salmon eggs benedict to ham eggs benedict and she was like no the food is already made. Then our dishes came 20 minutes later!!!

The quality of all the 5 dishes we had was very bad. I've never been this dissatisfied coming out of a restaurant. Never had a food this bad... Worst hollandaise sauce ever. What a waste of money, time and calories. $140 and no one was happy with their meals or the service. Overpriced for what you get. And they ruined the...
