I was excited to try North Vancouver's new Douce Diner this long weekend. Generally, I was not disappointed. Douce Diner, located on Pemberton Avenue just south of the Cactus Club, has an authentic, old-school diner look and feel, and a great deal of care has gone into the decor and atmosphere. Even the friendly wait staff have adopted 50's dress and style, to a certain extent. The menu here is simple, with few but sufficient choices. On my first visit, I ordered the Eggs Benedict with Country Ham, served with hash browns and accompanied by a traditional vanilla milkshake. My dining companion ordered the Panko Fried Chicken Sammy with a salad and a glass of orange juice. Food portions here are fairly small, so, if you have a big appetite, head over to Denny's to satisfy your hunger, instead. Having said that, it is apparent, at first bite, that Douce Diner uses high quality ingredients to produce some great tasting food. My eggs were perfectly cooked, the country ham was tender and the underlying biscuit was fresh. The hash browns were so amazingly good that the ketchup provided stayed in the bottle. My milkshake was smooth and satisfying, and neither too thick nor too sweet. The fried chicken sandwich was crispy and flavourful, with all-white chicken breast meat. The bread crumb panko was seasoned, but not excessively so. Both dishes were nicely presented and quite photogenic. Service was adequate and pleasant. The total bill came in at just under $50, including tax and tip, which is not great value, given the smaller portion sizes. However, overall, I would recommend a visit to Douce Diner, if only to enjoy the authentic diner experience and the superior food quality that is absent from most modern diners in this city. I wish Douce Diner a very long and...

I have been a regular customer of Douce Diner in North Vancouver for over 3 years now and I have to say, it's one of my favorite restaurants in the area. I've had the pleasure of trying a variety of their menu items, but their egg breakfasts, burgers, and waffles always stand out to me as the best.

First and foremost, let's talk about their egg breakfasts. I am a huge fan of eggs and Douce Diner does not disappoint. They have a great variety of options, but my go-to is the 2 eggs your way. The eggs are always cooked to perfection and the side choices are always plentiful. The breakfast comes with a side of perfectly crisp hash brown and fresh toast. I've also tried their omelets and they are also top-notch.

Their burgers are also a must-try. They are made with high-quality beef and are cooked to your liking. The burgers are juicy and flavorful, and the toppings are always fresh. The bun is soft and the perfect size for the burger.

Last but not least, their waffles are out of this world. They are light and fluffy, with a crispy exterior. They are served with fresh fruit and a side of delicious maple syrup. They also offer a phenomenal chicken and waffles which is sure to turn heads..

The service at Douce Diner is always friendly and efficient. The staff are always accommodating and willing to make recommendations. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, perfect for a casual breakfast or lunch.

Overall, Douce Diner is an excellent restaurant that I highly recommend to anyone looking for a great meal. Their egg breakfasts, burgers, and waffles are particularly noteworthy, but everything on the menu is delicious. I've been a regular customer for over 3 years now and I have yet to be disappointed. Give Douce Diner a try, you...

Douce Diner is a true gem in the world of diners, blending the best of modernity with vintage charm to create an unforgettable dining experience. From the moment you step inside, it's evident that this diner takes pride in maintaining impeccable cleanliness and freshness, setting it apart from the traditional diner ambiance. Despite the modern touches, Douce Diner retains the essence of a classic diner, offering bottomless drip coffee that's synonymous with this beloved dining tradition.

The service at Douce Diner is a testament to their commitment to providing a top-notch experience. The staff is not only friendly but also impressively efficient, ensuring that tables are turned over quickly without sacrificing the quality of service. It's a place where you can enjoy a leisurely meal without feeling rushed.

Now, let's talk about the food. The breakfast I had at Douce Diner was nothing short of delightful. Each dish was prepared with care and attention to detail, resulting in flavors that satisfied both the taste buds and the soul. It's a place where you can indulge in classic diner fare done exceptionally well.

The convenience of parking right outside on the street adds to the overall charm and nostalgia of the place. It's like stepping back in time to a simpler era when diners were a cornerstone of American dining culture.

I wholeheartedly recommend Douce Diner to anyone looking for an authentic diner experience with a modern twist. It's a place that brings the old-school diner theme to life in the best possible way. If you're in the area, don't miss the opportunity to savor the delightful combination of classic diner vibes and contemporary excellence that Douce Diner...

Well what can I say about this little hidden jewel of a restaurant. This is a must to dine hear!!! It just hits all the buttons the food was still on my palette for hours in a good way !! The decor is so cool ! I know a lot about renovating it's kind of been in our family for years and the owner has put a lot of thought into this beautiful restaurant. The tiled floor throughout the restaurant even non stop into the bathroom is amazing such detail and the lighting, bar stools at the little counter with a professional expresso machine it's a good one my wife use to be a very good barista and their place makes good coffee. This place started 6 years ago and it looks like it opened yesterday it's that clean. My wife and I were greated upon entering and had a nice seat by the window. We ordered the eggs benny with panco chicken, I had salad my wife the fries both were very good! They have really good thin cut fries , one of the best I ever tasted!! The eggs benny were perfect soft as ordered and so good ! The owner apparently makes the bread biscuits for the bennys in the early morning and by the time we had our bennys the fellow next to our table didn't have enough for his order but he ordered anyway with only one biscuit that's how good they are. I will be back next week I have a doctors appt near this place so I will definitely try the benny again it was so good. Then in the future, I will try more items in their varied menu. Miles the young lady who served us and everyone were very friendly it was a real joy to visit! It's a must to eat here you won't be disappointed !

This quaint little dinner has it all figured out during this time of covid, the service was prompt, lightning fast and leaps and bounds above courteous and friendly. The decor is a funky throwback of the 50's diner era. Mom and pop at its core. This place is not just impeccably clean, warm and inviting. It's the cleanest restaurant I've ever seen. Just what the doctor ordered on a rainy day. The menu... I want all of it. I will be returning to try every last bit. Let's start with the dish I had. Caramelized Onion white cheddar and gureyere grilled cheese with pickled zucchini shoestring fries and side bacon. Paired with a Bavarian lager, This is my comfort food. They offered me ketchup and house hotsauce. Let me just say that I could drink the hot sauce! It's so good. (Coming from a hot sauce maker and addict) The food was expertly cooked and perfect. It had to be savoured. Hats off to the kitchen and whoever came up with this dish. It's the best grilled cheese I've ever had. Seriously. It's so cozy here. I could stay all day, but they pump it out here. I think turnover is roughly 30mins per table. I feel guilty taking up space.its a hidden gem. It's worth the wait though, which isn't very long. I Hope that Douce Diner becomes a north shore staple for decades to come. It is perfect and I don't give perfect out to just anyone. It has all the things you could ever want in a quaint little funky diner. Hats off guys great job.
