I visited the North Vancouver (Pemberton Plaza) White Spot yesterday as a special outing with my family who was here from out of town. I was so impressed with everything we experienced. First of all, walking into this location for the first time, I noticed how beautifully decorated it is; it is certainly not what I remember White Spot looking like. We had our 3-year-old grandson with us, so having a positive experience was even more impressive. We walked in and were quickly greeted by Jake, who took us to a lovely booth and provided us with a booster seat. Jake was friendly and welcoming and took the time to talk to our family. He made us feel like he had been waiting just for us to arrive. Our grandson was given a colouring page and our server, Jessica, took his order and made sure it was brought extra quickly, so there was no fussing at all. Jessica checked in with us regularly, but made sure we had the time we needed to decide on our order. We were also served by Kelsey who was so friendly and attentive and really went the extra mile in talking to and entertaining our grandson, which of course made the experince more enjoyable for all of us. Not once did it feel like the staff was in a rush and yet we were served quickly. It's rare to be made to feel like that these days. The food we had was so delicious. My burger was fresh and flavorful and the fries were hot and crisp; everything exactly how I liked it. The drive from Langley to North Van was really worth it! We've been to this location of White Spot a number of times in the past and we're usually quite happy here, but on this particular day service was very much below the norm. Whereas we are usually served in timely manner at this location, everything was slow on this day. The wrong food was served to our table initially, and then when our server finally brought our food, the wrong type of bread was on my dish. I had asked for sourdough and was given multigrain instead. The young lady serving us was very apologetic and brought me my sourdough. We ended up with lots of bread since I now had multigrain and sourdough bread to eat. I ate one slice of the sourdough and brought the rest of it home.
In their defense, this was New Year's Day so...maybe all of the White Spot employees were tired from staying up late to ring in the New Year?!Ā Even though service could have been better, I'm still giving them 4 stars since we have been here quite a few times and service is usually good here.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreEither White Spot is really trying and changing their perception of Customer Service or Daryl is on point. Long story short, my Skip driver forgot 1 of 3 order bags. Before the Skip driver even made it to my doorstep, this White Spot location was profusely apologizing for an error that wasn't even theirs! I was (good) shocked, because Skip didn't even apologize for their error. Whilst talking on the phone with a White Spot member, they asked for my address. Today, I check my mail to see a direct letter from this location with a custom letter from Daryl expressing, again, how sorry they were for a mistake Skip made.
To be honest, when I was ordering from Skip I didn't mean to choose their location, but instead Lonsdale's - as it's closer. However, after the amazing personal touch to the level of customer service I received; they have truly won me as a loyal and repeat customer. I will always order from this location - instead of any other.
