Yama Sushi — Restaurant in District of North Vancouver

Never even got a chance to the food here was so thrown off by the response from the lady on the cash. We went for a quick lunch today and are new to the area . My husband politely asked her whether it was a eat in or takeaway only. She shrugged and sternly said only take away. I was surprised at her reluctance and response but wanted to give her one more chance and just asked her one more time if theirs any outside patio table/ chairs nearby for having lunch. She sternly looked at me and almost rebukingly said “ I have no idea”. I said Okay and came out. I was surprised by the unnecessary rude response. Once I came out quite ironically though I found the area has indeed a set up with outside patio and table chairs literally 20 mts away from the resturant . However, as I said the owner had no idea ! Frankly now even I have no idea to order from this place any...

Arigatou ありがとう ! This joint is a great little sushi spot! 100% recommend swinging by for some yummy chow down on awesome grub at excellent value for money. My first experience of Agedashi Tofu (揚げ出し豆腐) in this way, totally digged it, dope flavor and super tasty tofu! The Edamame 枝豆 salting was a little too overkill for my personal preference but a delicious set of Dynamite Roll 炸虾卷 , Inari Roll 稲荷 and Salmon Roll nonetheless. The Tamagoyaki 玉子焼き and Inari Roll 稲荷 were also phoneomenal! Note, no brown rice options here but isn't a huge deal. The staff are awesome, extremely approachable and they also have high chairs for little ones with big tummies! Really unappetizing, I'm sorry to say. I had the gyoza box. Tea was luke warm, miso was good, tempura was OK, gyoza was greasy and unflavorfull, salad was not appealing. The Cali roll stood out as probably the worst roll I've ever had! I was surprised. I ate about 20% of my combo, server never checked in, so I just asked for a check saying "sorry, I didn't like this". They just brought over the machine with no bill and charged me without adressing anything. I wish I'd had an opportunity to maybe try something else or not pay nearly $17 for a few bites.
