Restaurant Basha (D.D.O) — Restaurant in Dollard-des-Ormeaux

2022 - 2024 Update: First off, I get food here regularly these days and, of course, the staff are always good to me and my brother. They renovated the store and now have the poutine! You can replace the fries with their garlic potatoes and it is absolutely worth it. I tried the large serving, got some spicy sauce and vegetables. It is AMAZING. I included a photo, too. And now you guys got Boustan beat on the poutine game as well, haha. Thanks so much again for being awesome.

This is THE go-to for me when I want to get some shawarma, shish-taouk, etc. I used to go to the Boustan on boul Saint-Jean, since they used to give HUGE portions, but that changed. This place has the quality and value at the top, and some of the most chill people working there. I usually go with the mixed plate and the portion size is huge! Well worth the money. Love the flavor of the meat and potatoes. Hummus, well it's always good! There's an Amir and even another Boustan really close to it; I'll take this place over those any day! Except Boustan has them beat on the garlic potato poutine (update: see above). Some far away Basha locations do have the special poutine, so please get on that, Basha Des Sources!

The new guy at the front is surprisingly rude and unprofessional. We were dining in as a family when we heard him complain in front of the whole restaurant to the delivery driver about the amount a customer had just tipped him, WHILE the customer was still sitting at the restaurant. Another time I called at 9pm to place an order for pick up, and told them I would pick up at 9:20 pm. Then, I called my husband and he let me know he already ordered delivery from elsewhere. I called them back at 9:06 pm, 14 minutes before the time I said I would pick up, and he tells me he already prepared my order (2 plates and 2 sandwiches in 6 minutes, that were supposedly going to be hot and fresh when I got them in like 15 mins). I said I just placed it 6 minutes ago I'm not sure how you already prepared the whole order when I'm not picking up for another 15 mins but I'm sorry I won't be able to pick up. He starts yelling at me and orders me to talk to the "manager"to whom I explain the same thing. I said I would call back my husband and see what we could do but I'm surprised that with that tone and with food they were gonna serve me cold, they really expected me to bend over...

Fresh Ingredients & Friendly Service at Basha 🥙✨

I stopped by during the lunch rush, expecting a quick and satisfying meal. While there were a few hiccups, there were also some great highlights that made the experience enjoyable!

🥗 Fresh & Crisp Ingredients: • The lettuce and turnips were incredibly fresh and added a nice crunch to the meal. It’s always great to see a focus on quality ingredients!

🧄 Delicious Garlic Sauce: • The garlic sauce was absolutely on point—creamy, flavorful, and a perfect complement to the meal. Definitely one of the best parts!

🔥 Room for Improvement: • The potatoes had a slightly different yellow tone than usual, and I was hoping they’d be hot and crispy rather than on the cooler side. • The meat could have been a bit juicier and warmer, but the seasoning was still good.

💡 Overall: Even though this visit didn’t fully meet my expectations, I’ve had great experiences at other Basha locations, so I’m hoping this was just an off day. The friendly service and fresh ingredients were definite positives, and I’ll definitely give them another try in...
