As stated in many of my reviews (and quoting the Oracle in the Matrix) - I genuinely do not like giving good people bad reviews.m, as the owner is a nice guy and needs all the support a small business can get.

Was looking for some protein post workout and all the other options in town are typical franchises and not healthy (Pizza Hut, KFC, Timmy’s, McD’s, etc).

I made the mistake of choosing the buffet (after calling the place) and here goes;

  1. the veggie “pakoras” were nice but only two remained
  2. the chicken in the butter chicken tasted of nothing; the gravy was standard
  3. the spinach chicken had no chicken and was watery almost diluted
  4. the “daal makahani” was tasteless and also watered down - how can you get this wrong?
  5. the naan break was premade so not oven fresh
  6. the rice was dry and stuck to the bottom of the container, probably overheated.
  7. the chickpeas curry was probably the worst that I’ve had - no taste and no depth.
  8. the lemon chicken was overly flavored and I think it was just an out of the box item. Just blech.

For 30CAD - definitely not worth it. I’d be scared to try the menu items and will have to find an alternative when I return for work in the summer.

Unfortunately, couldn’t...

The Masala Restaurant in Dryden, Ontario, truly stands as a hidden gem among local eateries, shining brightly with its array of exquisite Indian delicacies. It's rare to find such a crown jewel that captures the essence of authentic Indian cuisine so far from its homeland, yet The Masala does so with exceptional flair and flavor.

The owner, Jashan, clearly understands the nuances of Indian tastes and the intricacies required in crafting a memorable meal. We indulged in a variety of dishes, including curry, butter chicken, and lentils, each of which was outstanding and uniquely satisfying in its own right. It’s seldom that you come across a restaurant where such staples all shine equally, making The Masala a remarkable find.

Despite the restaurant's bustling atmosphere, with many locals opting to order from here, the service remained remarkably swift. Jashan himself took special care to expedite our order, ensuring our experience was not only delicious but also efficient.

I would highly recommend The Masala Restaurant to anyone in or visiting Dryden. Whether you are a connoisseur of Indian cuisine or simply in search of a delightful dining experience, The Masala promises to exceed your expectations with its superb dishes and...

As a frequent visitor to masala restaurant ], I must say it stands out as the best restaurant in Dryden. The owner’s humility, politeness, and dedication to customer satisfaction create a welcoming atmosphere that keeps me coming back. Their butter chicken, while perhaps lighter than some expect, offers a delicate balance of flavors that caters to a wide range of palates, making it accessible and enjoyable for everyone. The Chana masala is crafted with care, and I’ve found its subtle seasoning to be a refreshing take on the dish, perfect for those who prefer a milder taste.

Portion sizes are thoughtfully designed, offering great value for the quality you receive. The ingredients are fresh, and the dishes are prepared with attention to detail, reflecting the owner’s commitment to providing an authentic yet approachable Indian dining experience. Compared to other Indian restaurants in larger cities, [Restaurant Name] holds its own by focusing on quality and consistency, all while maintaining reasonable prices for a small-town setting.

If you’re in Dryden, this is the place to go for a warm, inviting meal served by a genuinely kind and helpful team. I highly recommend giving it a try and experiencing the charm of this local treasure...

Well this was a treat and well worth the drive. We are from the Chicago area and are used to great food options, so this place was a little gem of a find. I overall am so impressed with Dryden as a whole. The people are SO NICE! We didn’t really know what to expect it was late probably close to 8:00 so the dinner rush at the buffet was over and they were winding down. But the food options were still all available and really good! They even made us fresh Naan! That sold me I will come back each time we come back!

We are vegan and gluten free, and could find limited options for lunch in Dryden. I called this restaurant the day before we went and talked to the owner - he said he would take care of us. When we arrived his kitchen staff called and he made a special trip in to help us. He gave us several choices of vegan options he could make. We ended up with chana masala, rice, patras and papadoms. They also have Greek, Thai and North American food choices.

We had the dinner buffet. The selection was very good, about 14 different items. I tried a little bit of everything and enjoyed the pulled pork. Everything had very good taste. It didn't seem like run of mill buffet items for an India restaurant. I enjoyed the galic cilantro sauce. There were two other sauces I didn't try. The server Kamal was very nice and attentive. Cool Indian pop music playing in the background.
