We were two weary travelers, completely lost in the woods near a house that wasn’t ours, searching for our dog, Kepler (who definitely belongs to us, despite everything feeling like a bad dream). That’s when we met him: Mac the Moose. Yes, a giant, talking moose who knew exactly what was going on and offered to help—on the condition that we didn’t ask too many questions. Naturally, we followed him.
Mac led us deeper into the forest, casually offering cryptic life advice while warning us about “hungry things” in the shadows. It was bizarre and unsettling, but then—after what felt like an eternity—he led us straight to Kepler, sitting in a clearing, looking perfectly calm as if she hadn’t just vanished for hours.
Before we could even process what had happened, Mac disappeared into the trees. We’re still not sure if we imagined the whole thing, but we found our dog, and that’s what matters. So, if you ever find yourself lost (and really need help from a cryptic woodland creature), trust a moose. Just don’t ask why he’s there—and for the love of all things, don’t wander into strange...
