The first two nights i had dinner here were great. I had breakfast 3 mornings as well and it was also great. The 3rd night, I had a longer than normal work day and didn't make it in to the restaraunt till 8:45pm on the Wednesday. Server was over pretty quick and told me the kitchen was closing soon and if I wanted food I needed to decide quick so she can get my order in. No problem, I'll get wings and she mentioned that it was wing night and 2lbs for $20 I think it was. Awesome, that's what I'll do. Food came out in 5 minutes. Very quick. I had also ordered a beer at the same time and got that pretty quick as well. For almost an hour, while I sat there and ate my wings, drank most of my beer than sipped the last 1/3 of it, because I didn't want to be out of my drink. The waitress wasn't coming over to my table, didnt check on me once after getting my food. I was making it obvious i wanted something, without being rude. Apparently that's not the normal way to get service, it gets you nowhere in this case. There was another waitress serving the table to the left of where I was sitting and was constantly serving 2 people drinks and everything for the entire hour I was hoping to get another beer. As soon as I finished my beer and wings, the waitress came over and said I'll get you your bill. From what I found out after, the restaraunt closed at 9pm because of lack of staff. They have a chalk board saying it's open till 11pm just outside the lounge and online says they are open till 11pm as well. If I knew the restaraunt was only open till 9, I wouldn't have bothered in the first place. You could prevent a portion of the confusion by erasing the 11 and put a 9 in its place. The rest of the staff that served me breakfast and dinner was great and I was happy with the service. I won't be back here again based on that service with the one waitress. I also wanted to give 4 stars because of how great the rest of the service was the other days and I wouldn't want one person's lack of care to affect...
Read moreI always wonder when a place has a 1 star and a 5 star review on the same day. I understand it fully here. We ate here during our stay at the hotel. 2 suppers and one Breakfast. The first night the place was hopping. Staff were run off their feet but were fabulously friendly. The place was full with at 2 Birthday groups of at least 20 people each, but food arrived quickly. My wife had a Mediterranean Flat Bread she reported as excellent. I had a Reuben with a side of Chicken Corn Chowder. The soup was great, the Reuben possibly the worst I have ever had. It tasted sweet, the 1000 Islands was a ketchup/mayo throw together, if there was a tablespoon of sauerkraut on there i would be amazed, and who fries the corned beef? 1 star and 5 star in the same meal. I was alone for breakfast the next day. I was seated at a table for 2 by the window but had to ask to move as it was freezing, the staff were happy to help. I ordered the large breakfast and it was great. Service was friendly, refills offered regularly. A good 5 experience for sure. The next night we were going to do dinner there but they were full. We were offered service in the room which we gladly accepted and were told about 45 minutes for food, which is what it took. My wife ordered a Spinach and Mandarin salad which she reported was excellent (it looked it!). I took the special a Hot Hamburger Sandwich. It came as 2 Retail Patties fried and placed over a slice of rye bread with some fried onions with fried canned mushrooms. Missing anything? I guess I should have ordered gravy on the fries to help it out. Another 1 and a 5. Sorry guys - this was a solid 3 with 5 star prices. Thank your staff for at least one of...
Read moreThe food was delicious! I got the veggie burger, and my wife got a chicken burger. The service, on the other hand, was not impressive. It was disappointing and frustrating. We arrived and got seated right away, and our order was taken shortly after. We received our drinks quickly too. We then waited almost 50 minutes for our dishes, and there were not many other patrons in the restaurant. Our waiter did not check on us often at all, not even when my wife's cup was empty as we were still waiting for our food. There was another server with long hair who kept making direct eye contact with my wife and myself. The long-haired server kept checking on all the tables but ours. I understand that servers have sections in restaurants, but she was checking all the other tables. My wife, at one point, got up to ask the long-haired server for drinks and ordered us a side. The server then got the other server, who took a while to get us our drinks. Once we got our food, the server did not check on us until I was almost finished with my food. I feel that there was some sort of homophobia from the servers as all other tables were straight families or couples or single patrons. What a sad thing to see in today's day and age. I will for sure let others know...
