Original Joe's — Restaurant in Duncan

First of all, i believe in giving Google reviews, good or bad, as I believe people have a right to know. A group of us (5 adults and 3 children ranging from 2 to 7) stopped in at Original Joe's for dinner this past week. We were first told that our wait for a table would be 20 minutes. We waited for 45 minutes to actually get a table. Then we were eventually seated at a bar table when there were clearly lots of tables/booths available that would fit all 8 of us. We asked to be moved to a booth which was big enough to seat all of us. Once we were seated in the booth we waited for approx 30 minutes before anyone came to take our order. We finally complained and they tried to at least rush the kids' orders through because it was getting late. However they still took quite a long time even bringing these to the table. We eventually got our drink and dinner orders in but waited for a long time to get our drinks. Still waiting for our meals, we waited to get the girl to come back to take our second drink order. We yet again complained, put in the drink order and waited to have the request filled. Finally, 3 of us got our meals, while 2 did not. One meal was stone cold. The other two meals, that came out well after everyone else's were packed up to take home because it was way too late for the kids (well past their bed times). The whole fiasco had us waiting for 2.5 hours. The manager ended up taking over our table, and explained that they were short staffed, and there was a new bartender that was still learning, and there was a concert at the university so they didn't expect the swarm of people that showed up for dinner that night. After all was said and done, he took all of our meals off the bill and only charged for our drinks. On top of that, our group received a $50 gift certificate.

Well we won’t be ordering from here again for awhile. If you eat in the food and service is good. If you order online or by phone for take out make sure your prepared to wait anywhere from 30 mins -1.5 hr on top of the time you were Originally told or booked online. Every time we’ve phoned in a take out we’ve had a long wait time but usually the lady at the desk is nice and apologetic and they may compensate you someway, last two time not at all. Last order I get there after taking 20 mins longer than what I was told on the phone to come in and be told oh they lost our order, and that it will be another 20 mins. After waiting 40 mins and no one saying a thing I ask if they found my order ( I also had my 8 month old baby who was starting to get fussy) I was told oh yeah I think he is packaging it up, after another 10 mins I said okay I’m going for a drive before my baby starts screaming, came back 15 mins later and thankfully it was finally ready. No compensation just a sorry for the wait, I asked the server to pass on this experience to the manager and explain how unhappy this experience was. We ordered again because the food is usually always good. This time I go down to pick up and it’s not ready again , wait 20 mins and get it home for it all to cold and not...

Went there couple of days ago, the waitress next to the door seemed bothered with our arrival for some reason, we requested to sit on the patio, she said it's closed meanwhile there are people eating there no problem. Then she completely ignored us and went somewhere and came back to talk with another lady that came after us and took her to a table and we are standing there. After that she cleaned a table for us. Our waitress came to take our drinks and order, brought the drinks fast but after that disappeared for 45 minutes!!! Food took that long meanwhile it's just burgers, we saw her going back and forth to the other side ignoring us completely, she could've at least came to ask if we needed more drinks or to apologize for the delay but nothing. 45 minutes after she came with our food , my mashed potatoes was barely warm rest of the food was okay. One of my friends made a reasonable comment about the wait time , she goes like " yeah we are very busy right now" not even a sorry! Then the manager showed up , she was nice and said sorry for the wait that's why i rated two stars. It was late and everything is closed otherwise we would've left.
