I've never had such a bad experience at a restaurant than I did tonight at the Boston Pizza in Millwoods. We decided to do self seating in the lounge. We saw an empty booth with a dirty dishcloth on it, but we didn't mind too much. We sat down, and a lady finally came after we've been sitting there awkwardly. No one greeted us. She came to our table, gave us a dirty look as if she was annoyed she decided to come in. Wiped the table did not even greet us in any way (and I mean not even a hello, I wasn't even expecting a 'sorry' about the dirty table). She, I kid you not, stared at me for a few seconds as if she expected me to do something and said 'grab the stuff in the back if you want a drink,' and walked away. I looked behind me and all the stuff to be set on the table was behind me. I ended up grabbing the drink menu, and the stand up brochure things they always had and placed it on the table for me. (I didn't need the drink menu.... we were there for chicken wings since it is wing night wednesdays). Anyways, not only did it take forever for our drinks to come, another server ended up taking over and it made us feel like we weren't wanted as a customer. after much waiting for our food (we ordered chicken wings....), it finally came.. but my partner ended up waiting extra as they forgot to bring cutlery.. he had to end up giving up waiting and stood up to grab them himself. As the night goes on, our server barely made any eye contract with us, and the one time she did, I barely had time to open my mouth to ask for a box and the bill because we weren't sure when she would come by again, she just looked at my water and asked if we wanted another one and left without waiting for an answer. Needless to say, we never did end up getting that water. We did, however, see her tend to 4 different customers drink orders more complex than our own, and finally after we were sick and tired of waiting, my partner stood up to find another server. Not only was our own server standing at the bar surrounded by the other servers sharing personal stories, she was having a drink (I hope it's iced tea at least) and eating celery with our back to us! What kind of absurd customer service is that?! I was so offended and frustrated that by the time my partner came back equally as frustrated, I just wanted to pay and never come back. She finally came back after yet another long wait and I think she tried to get her tip back by building rapport with me asking about the game and whatnot. But at that point, I didn't care. I'm sorry, I used to work in the restaurant industry myself, and I know how much not tipping affects servers, but to be honest, I did not think Nataia deserved a tip. The server had a dirty dishcloth on the table, forgot our cutlery, our water, wasted our time, decided to eat and drink and share stories at the bar, so forgive me if I felt like I was not treated very well during my experience. I've never had a good experience at this Boston Pizza. If you were a family going there for the first time, this would be a disappointing experience and the food is definitely not worth the wait. The Boston Pizza at South Common, yes it is a bit more expensive, but I'd GLADLY pay the extra premium just to get a decent...
Read moreHi there id just like to explain my story as I've never been treated sooo horribly by any restaurant that I have been to in my life. I work shutdowns and its very long hours with no days off. I was really looking forward to bringing a nice spaghetti meal for lunch as it's an hour drive. When I picked up my order at the door on my way to work I made a quick pit stop at home. I noticed that they gave me fettuccine instead of spaghetti. I was really upset and when I called them I got even more upset as the person who answered claiming to be the manager said to me come back and get the spaghetti. I said I can't come back as I'm on my way to work. I mentioned that they should refund my money as now I have no lunch. He said we won't refund you but you can come pick up your spaghetti..of course I got irate at that point. I should have been given a refund the next day or something when I could return. Soooo I went to work a 12 hour shift with no lunch cuz as I explained to them I hate fettuccine. 2 days later someone called from bps but left no message. When I called back a couple days later thinking they were going to try to resolve the problem, the manager Darlene Sook was very rude and unprofessional. She literally pushed me to the point of becoming irate once again. Threatening all sorts of non sense. I'll tell ya one thing I've been to many places where people get the order wrong and they have always handled it professionally...first they would say sorry a bunch of times to show they cared (bps couldn't say sorry once) and they corrected the problem and made sure I left happy whether it was a free milkshake from harverys or a free ice cream from dairy queen or a donut from tims, I was always treated with such great customer service. It would have been nice to hear a sorry first of all when I called about the wrong order being given to me, and all I wanted was a refund for what I was charged for. Didn't want anything free, just wanted them to care that I was an unhappy customer. Needless to say I'll never go back to a bps ever again, and I actually used to like going there. But that location always seemed a bit off to me like really bad customer service, I just never had anything quite like this recent experience. Worst customer service...
Read moreI’m writing this review at this location. To begin, I want to clarify that I’ve been dining at this location for a few years now. I visit every 2 weeks or so. Therefore, I’d like to consider myself a regular. This location has gone downhill in terms of service ever since it opened after renovations. It is always short staffed, and the staff who are very friendly aren’t trained enough unfortunately. During this visit: -We waited for more than 15 mins to have our meal ordered. After we ordered we waited for 27 mins just to get our main course first and salad 7.32 mins later. When she came back we realized that they didn’t even give us our cutlery to begin eating with. So we tell her to bring our eating utensils and at this point I don’t need to tell you how long they would’ve taken to bring those too. I believe that when you order any baked pasta, you’re usually offered fresh parmesan cheese. At this location it doesn’t work like that you have to ask them after the food’s been at your table for over 5 mins. When they come back to ask you how everything is once in a while, they’re in such a rush as if they have to do a heart surgery in the back. I would’ve ordered deserts after but I simply gave up and wanted to leave ASAP.
If you do decide to come here I would recommend to sit at the bar side because diners are taken care of much better compared the family side. I say this after seeing a crowd of employees gathered in that area to help diners and only one or two assigned at the family side.
If you’re with your family or even alone do yourself a favour, drive for 8 more minutes straight on 23rd avenue to Boston Pizza’s south common location. You would be SURPRISED by the overall experience.
Note: I have nothing against the employees they’re super nice, they just need more training and better management. I understand that there are bigger issues in our world than this but I had to write this after holding myself back for months to not be...
