Just ordered a bento via skip. It was trash. The grease was literally pouring off the tempura, leaving a puddle in the bottom of the container, the spring rolls were under cooked, turning the inner layer of the wrap into mush, the dumplings (which were understandably premade and frozen) were under-heated and showed freezer burn, the chicken was overcooked and yet tepid on delivery (and don't try to blame the driver - he literally just went around the block, I'm in the apartments directly behind you). And worst, the rice was soggy.
How do you run an Asian restaurant featuring soggy rice? It was just as inedible as the rest of it - and I love rice.
There wasn't any part of this meal that could be enjoyed, even as junk food. It was awful. I also ordered green onion cake, but I have no apetite for it. I'm going to make some real rice and some tea and write off this "restaurant" permanently.
It's been literally years since I bought anything here because when I first moved into the neighborhood I got some teriyaki chicken from a couple of "doods" who were too busy doing nothing to take my order, then served me what had clearly been in the hot service for at least a couple of hours. As dry as jerky. I've been eating at the one at Heritage on the rare occasion that I'm over there, and I thought after all this time it can't still be terrible, can it?
It's...
Read moreI had gone in with a friend to order take out. We ordered a sushi platter and tempura shrimp. The rolls did not contain the ingredients that were listed in the menu. They gave us one packet of soy sauce and one pair of chopsticks. I had called the store to provide feedback, thinking maybe they were out of an ingredient and could share this with people in advance. The advice given to me was next time I should ask them to make it correctly and confirm it has the ingredients it should. Next time? No thanks. Would not recommend this location and wish there was a way to recall tips.
Edit to response: In your reply you say you're sorry the store failed to show the ingredients and they're listed on the takeout menu. In my review, I had said what I received did not match the ingredients on the menu (that I did read). A better response would be to follow up with staff and have them read the menu so the dishes/rolls prepared are correct and match the ingredients listed...or have common sense to see if there are two people ordering you could include more than one packet of soy sauce and chopsticks. You said the manager offered me a complimentary dish but didn't take my phone or name so how would that be offered? Can people just show up and ask for free food? I live out of town and will likely not go to have another...
Read moreAt this location there is a total of about 6 employees, 3 of them are very kind and nice (the 2 nice Asian ladies and a polite young man without glasses) and the other 3 (the bald old man and the clueless teenagers) a.k.a the miserable ones. Most of the bad reviews are about the"miserable" staff who work there a.k.a (the bald old man and the clueless teenagers) and most of the good reviews are about the friendly staff who work there a.k.a (the 2 nice Asian ladies and a very polite young man (without glasses) . ONLY COME HERE IF YOU SEE TWO LADIES AND A MAN WITHOUT GLASSES WORKING THERE. If you walk in their and you see the bald old man, then it's best to get out. The man shown in Tam Phu's picture (the young man with glasses, who is one of the clueless teenagers) was very rude to me when I asked him for soy sauce. All he did was yell "IT'S ON THE COUNTER, NEXT!" while looking away from me! SERIOUSLY?! Oh yeah by the way, when paying using credit or debit there is a screen that says (Tip?) and when I denied he got mad at me! That's why you should ONLY COME HERE IF THE BALD OLD MAN ISN'T WORKING THERE! (thank you...
