Care It is my absolute favorite place to get a sandwich in Edmonton. I have been a loyal customer starting at their now closed Macewan University location, then onto their now closed Fox Towers location. My first disappointment was when they stopped doing sandwich stamp cards back at fox Towers. I had saved up two and then found I couldn't use them. Care It's turkey sandwhich held a strong place in my heart so I just accepted that I would pay full price for it, and skip on the expensive salad sometimes. I love their sandwiches and apple/feta/cranberry salad so much that I now drive to the 142 st location. Their grocery items are good quality and ever delicious, but I just can't afford them.
My greatest heartbreak caused by Care It recently is when I tried to order off Skip the Dishes because I don't live near any of their locations anymore and cant always make the drive to the 142 st location. I placed my order every day for three days last week, with them cancelling it everytime. I would get excited to have my sandwich for lunch, and save the salad for dinner. But it never happened. Since then, they have been unavailable for order on Skip the Dishes. I check everyday hoping, to no avail.
If you're near them, I can vouch for their delicious sandwiches. Their groceries are affordable for those who live in the rich neighborhood around them, but not for anyone making the drive. You can't seem to order from them. I have been loyal to them for years, and I have been deeply disappointed by...
Read moreMy large Property Management Company ordered a buffet christmas lunch for our staff and spent about $700. We ordered 1 vegan meal which was supposed to be a pasta but when it showed up , it was a bowl full of vegetables. I called to let the owner know there was a mistake with the order and he responded with "too bad". Me thinking I must have misheard him, said pardon. He then said again "too bad". I let him know our co worker went without a meal while we ate ours and just wanted him to know we paid $35 for the pasta meal, not a bowl full of veggies. He then said "its a vegan meal what did you expect?". He did not apologize, talked down to me and asked " Do you even know what the cost of vegetabes are?". I was shocked at this behavior from the owner and was treated like a degenerate. We spent $700 here and gave this man business only to be treated like that.
Side note: the turkey tasted like old deli meat, and portions were small. Stuffing was soggy and carrots were undercooked. A catered mcdonalds meal would have been better. 10/10 would...
Read moreCONSUMERS WITH ALLERGIES BEWARE I recently purchased, what I believed to be a chicken pot pie as that was what the label said, for lunch. 5 minutes after I began eating it, I realized it was in fact a salmon pot pie, which I am severely allergic and anaphylaxis to. After using my epi-pen, rushing to the hospital, and a long visit in an emergency room bed, I was fortunate to walk out. The following day, a visit was made to Careit to bring to their attention the situation, so it would never happen again to other paying customers. We were met with the following responses: "Ah thats unfortunate, mistakes happen" "What do you want us to do about it now?" "You're still alive, don't worry so much" I fear for other consumers who suffer from food allergies that a similar situation will occur, and am terrified the outcome could be much worse than my experience. The lack of empathy and concern shown by the manager today was incredibly hurtful...
