Visited Rebel saterday October 14th .my self and 3 others decided to go and try it for the first time .
As soon as we entered the host was vary unwelcoming . We arrived around 3:30 . And she told us we have to be out by 5 witch is quite a rude thing to immediately tell us . No smiles no anything . Felt as if us being there made her mad.
The 4 of us had to wait an hour for sub par food so we felt vary rushed eating.
About the food
The fish and chips came vary dry the fish was almost jerkey like. The fish and chips also came with ranch. I havent been anywhere that gives ranch with fish and chips . Fortunately our waiter comped the fish and chips as we did not eat them .
We also got the hot chicken wings witch unfortunately came vary dry again vary simular to the dry fish and chips .
The nachos looked to be the only thing that wasnt dry . In fact the nachos are vary soggy there was no crunch to any of the chips just a tray of soggy chips with cheese on them .
The smoke show pizza was are only saving grace to this meal for 4 people.
The cocktails are put off as delicious but unfortunately when they came we had to power through them and try and order something else hoping it was better.
The Mojito was the only one id would recommend .
The 4 of us all came to Rebel excited to try a new restaurant within are community. And were instantly met with a vary unwelcoming host to long wait times for dry food . And sub par cocktails. No waitress or host had a smile the whole time .
We will not be returning unfortunately vary let down and disappointed ...
Read moreThis was probably one of the top 3 worst service experiences I have ever had. I truly do understand that we are still in a pandemic and certain procedures might take longer than normal, but having our server check on us every 15-20 minutes without an apology is unacceptable.
Additionally, we were also asked to clear up with our server as she was heading out for the night (which we were completely okay with to compensate her for her work) however we had a voucher that gave us $20 if we spent $75 and we were told even though we were clearing up, our old server would give our new server the old receipt to prove we spent over $75. But when it came time our new bill, the new server said the old server didn’t give her the receipt and therefore could use the coupon because our new total wasn’t over $75 either. It was very clear our first server had just said that to get us to clear up so she could get the tips out of us and had no intent on helping us at all.
A salad took 20 minutes to come out, fruit loops on the confetti cake were very stale and drinks tasted like they could be made at home. The only reason this review is not a 1 star is because the Suit and Tai was actually quite good.
Overall, we felt we weren’t treated as a priority because we did not match the “usual demographic” of people who eat at Rebel and apparently did not deserve a good dining experience. Rebel will 100% not be getting a recommendation from me or my friends....
Read moreThe location is great. The food is absolutely delish. Their cocktails are something to brag about. The atmosphere is awesome. But the service is so very, very bad.
When we arrived mid-afternoon, there were multiple servers and only 3 tables inside. We sat inside. We waited a long time at the door before we were acknowledged.
We were seated and abandoned. We realized we needed to deploy emergency measures as our server may never return again. We ordered drinks, appetizers and lunch all at once.
Our appetizer came. We had no cutlery. We flagged someone else down and they brought it. We ate our appetizer, it was amazing! Still no drinks.
Our drinks were prepared and sitting on the bar. We watched our server walk past them at least 5x. We got our drinks, drank them and waited another 20 minutes before flagging her down for another.
After 45 minutes, we had to ask if our food was still coming.
She left dirty dishes on the table for an unreasonably long time, checked on us rarely, and never offered us anything additional or asked us if we wanted another drink.
When my drink was empty, she said, “So, just the bill then?” That’s our cue to leave!
It’s hard to justify spending $150 for lunch when you have to beg for service, and ultimately have to give up and go elsewhere to enjoy your afternoon off.
I really want to love this place, but we’ll take our hungry tummies and thirsty lips...
