I haven't been in for around a year now as the location is a bit hard for me to get to from home, but I used to eat their product fairly frequently. I usually have my food prepared by the owner as he seems to be there in the daytime pretty much every day, a very pleasant person that one. They have a very decent assortment of fillings to chose from and you get ALOT of food for your money. Their beef donair meat is some of the best I have ever tried. On top of all that the owner is great to chat with while he prepares your food and he will even give you and your friends some free samples of the donair meat while you eagerly and hungrily await the final product. Read moreOrdered large sweet potato poutine and a few mixed donairs. The donairs were OK, I might have granted a 4/5 for that, but the poutine was truly an abomination. The sauce was awful, far too sparse, and strangely gelatinous. Far, far too little cheese, which sadly seems to be the running theme around here.
I do realize that poutine is a Quebecois fare that just sort of bled into the rest of Canada, and this is Alberta and all, but still. Get the sauce right, absolutely load it with cheese, and price it accordingly. While this was priced very "reasonably" ($8 for a large), they skimped on the cheese, maybe to be able to meet that price?
