Edo Japan — Restaurant in Edmonton

"Number one please, extra sauce!" Is what I've said since the 90's at this company. With their new menu it's "Beef Sukiyaki, 2 scoops sauce!". Staff are friendly when you order, dumplings and spring rolls are a good choice if you want a bit of a side dish. Double meat available for those ubercarnivorous weirdos. I do eat meat, but I don't go crazy for it. I've never had a plate that was sub par, veggies are always fresh, and I've never had to wait more than a few minutes even during a busy time. 5 stars because of staff friendliness, food quality and freshness, short wait times, and reasonable price for the quality. They have sushi and other more "Japanese" food choices but why mess with the signature dish they are known for and...

I'm very disappointed in edo. I order a beef ramon soup bowl with extra mushrooms and extra broccoli, and I get home open it, and I find over half the mushrooms not very cooked. Almost raw, and the broccoli was still uncooked. I called to talk to them, and she Manger and employee accessed me of lying and saying they cooked it and was very rude. I tried to explain you shouldn't treat your customers like that (I've always gone there and usually they are good but very disrespectful to me on the phone) I feel like I need to call the head office of edo japan and see this is no way to treat a customer and tell them there lying. I'm the one who was gonna eat it but that was the most disappointed conversation I've had ....

If I could give one star I would. My son and I got severe food poisoning from this location on Monday the 23rd (2 days ago now, just finished recovering) . I got the chicken yakisoba, california rolls, dynamite rolls and the avocado rolls. No raw fish and my son didn't have any sushi either, so I assume it must have been the chicken. About 3 hours after eating, my stomach started gurgling pretty bad and I was in the washroom all night, my son didn't have it quite as bad thankfully because he didn't eat much. But this has put me off wanting to eat here again...
