I've never had an experience quite like the one I just walked out of at the White Oaks Joey's. First off I confirmed as I left that the hours today were till 8pm. We came in (as a group of 4) at 6pm, where we were told at the till that he would have to check with the chef if they were still cooking... as he was handing food to a take out order. We waited for him to return and he told us we could sit wherever we wanted. We sat down and took a peek at the menu, as we were perusing the man from behind the till (who was also our server I suppose) came to take our drink orders, after he took them he informed us that "he was doing us a favor" by letting us eat in and "to hurry up" with our orders. which ironically he didn't end up taking our food orders and instead walked away to grab our drinks. As soon as he walked away, the whole group of us knew we were not welcome in this establishment, we decided we would have our drinks and go somewhere else. When he delivered our drinks I informed him about our decision and the pure delight in his eyes confirmed that we had made the correct decision. The first sip of the drinks delivered to us made me think he just put food dye in carbonated water and called it a day.
Moral of the story, we came in 2 hours before their posted closing and were treated as if we should have known that they decided to close up early tonight. go to another location if you care about customer service, or better yet go to the Boston pizza that's a 1 minute drive from this location. they are so much kinder.
Edit: Google still says that your establishment is open until 8pm, and so does the WHITE BOARD outside the store (which would be an easy enough task to simply erase the 8 and put a 7 to allow customers to know what's going on instead of making us feel unwelcomed)
Edit 2: was leaving the parking lot after giving a lovely experience at Boston Pizza and saw the two individuals who "helped" us at this location leaving at 8:30pm.. not sure why they felt the need to tell us they were closing at 7pm when they obviously were at the store for longer than the "close" time they...

Walked in a couple weeks ago with a friend and just as we walked in the manager ran to meet us at the door and asked us to leave. He apologized and said he forgot to lock the door. Told us it was slow all day so he sent everyone home. It was only 6pm when we got there.
Went back tonight and when we walked in no one was there even though the parking lot was full for the weekly car show. When we sat down the booths were very over sized and you had sit on the edge to reach the table.
I ordered a chicken sandwich and when it arrived the presentation was very off putting. It had a huge steak knife in the centre for such a little sandwich . When i pulled the knife out and took a look, it was just 3 small pieces of chicken not much bigger than a chicken nugget. They looked over cooked and definitely not like something that was marinated in butter milk and hot sauce.
I took one bite and that was it. It tasted like it was a week old and the chicken looked grey. My friend also mentioned that the fish they had was very dry. We let the server know about sandwich when came she came to get the trays.
When she brought us the bill we were still charged $17 for the sandwich even though it was sent back. We just paid and left.
It is sad to see what has happened to this place. I used to go here all the time before the renovations. I will...
Read moreI went to take a few friends out for all you can eat fish and chips on Tuesday, May 20th. I went at about 7pm. The tables were a disaster, the floors had fries on them. The waitress was rude and spoke broken English and was not coherent when I asked what the prices were. She continued to tell us what we wanted to drink?!? and refused to make extra coffee for us as we requested. She wanted to have us drink water and forgot my friends coleslaw when he ordered a side order. She then when on to explain prices and details in perfect English when she came back and were almost done eating!!! I could of saved $20+, but know I was deceived had I known that pollock was the one for $20 all you can eat, and showed us a sign. ( The menu was unclear too) She made a big fuss about getting our orders and surprisingly wanted a tip at the end!?!? I would NOT go again and would recommend no one go there, even though they say they are Canadian owned. Drinks are $3/each. I wish I had turned around and left right away. Please don't visit this location. It was a horrible experience. The food was ok, little to no fries that were dry and in a metal tray. I am so humiliated and wish I had left and or talked to a manager and tried to get some money back, however I was anxious to get out of there and replied. "We are leaving now,...
