Our regular Chinese food place was closed today, so why not try the local 10-star on Skip and 4.5 on Google place, we thought. I will start with the good - my wife said the lady she picked up from was very friendly. As many have said here, the portions are generous. They included fortune cookies! Unfortunately, the list of not good is much longer as the food left a lot to be desired. Chicken balls tasting of old oil in a soggy coating. To their credit, the portion of chicken inside was decent. My wife did not enjoy the sweet and sour sauce, while I thought it was okay. The Shanghai noodles appeared to have a nice amount dark soy sauce on them, but they were completely flavorless. The special fried rice was almost too salty to be edible, which was a shame because it had quality chunks of meat/shrimp in it. The shrimp and vegetables (pictured) was probably the most disappointing - as shown in the picture, the shrimp were not properly cleaned. For those who don't know, that brown line is the anatomical equivalent of a shrimp's intestine and these curly pink fellows were full of it. Gross. The sauce was also oddly sweet and the veggies were mushy. I didn't try the dry pork ribs we also got, the missus said they were okay. I much prefer to leave good reviews and this place has a very high rating so I am baffled, but I don't think I will gamble another $85 on whether or not it was just a bad night for the chef.

First time visiting Kaiming's and was impressed by the large portion sizes and reasonable price. I order the soy sauce chowmein plus spring rolls and enjoyed my meal thoroughly. Again the amount of food you get for the price is very good and the food is tasty. My spring rolls were light and flavorful while not being overly greasy. My chowmein was so much I will be saving this for later which I feel is a great bonus (2 meals in 1!). The food was hot when I picked it up and the chowmein noodles had a nice flavor to them. Overall I really enjoyed my meal and if I was in Edmonton again this would be a spot I would return to for another good meal.

Stumbled upon this hidden gem when attending an appt in the area. It seems to be a family operated business with a cozy atmosphere perfect for a quick lunch or dinner. The staff were very friendly and attentive to customers. But the real star of the show is the food itself. I was presented a “specials” menu where I chose the beef and broccoli, ginger chicken and chicken fried rice. The food is prepared fresh and served piping hot and simply outstanding! I have been there three times in the past month and have yet to be disappointed by the food or service. Highly recommend this restaurant if you are a fan of Asian food.

Worst Chicken Fried Rice by a Landslide! Nothing like their picture. This chicken fried rice had NO PEAS, NO EGG, NO CARROTS, NO ONION, NO CHIVES. I'm estimating it had the equivalent of one flat teaspoon of chicken. I found three tiny pieces and there was other microscopic grain size pieces elsewhere. If you want to make their chicken fried rice, take 1.5 cups of cooked rice, add 1/2 teaspoon of soy sauce, 1/4 teaspoon of chicken powder and one flat teaspoon of chicken. You'll need to learn how to keep a straight face when you serve this to your guests.

I love chicken fried rice and have eaten it for over 50 years. It's almost impossible to find good versions anymore but this was beyond awful. At $12.50 a plate, they must be making $12.20 and I am not exaggerating. My wife's dish was okay but I have never felt so ripped off. Also, they charged me $2.50 for a tiny dish of chili oil. I’m in shock!

Response to the owner: You just removed the pic from your web site. It was...

Staff was really nice but the food was not great at all. For Appetizers I ordered Green Onion Cake + Shrimp Crackers and for the Main, I ordered Shrimp Ramen Soup + Beef Guilan with Steamed Rice.. honestly the Green onion cake was really good but the other food was amongst the worst I've tried.. the ingredients seem like really low quality. The beef in the Guilan didn't seem like beef and it was a funny pinkish redish color. The Ramen soup seemed like it was packaged Maggie Noodles with some shrimps added as we ate a couple of spoons and just left the rest! The people here are super nice but I hate to say that this was one of the worst food i've tried.. My wife and me eat out twice a week and I never leave reviews but this one I am leaving just because it was quite disappointing. These people are very nice and so I hope they succeed in business but I hope this review makes them improve the quality of ingredients used and hopefully they improve the taste of...
