I went into this Opa location on 17th street in Edmonton this afternoon, and I noticed immediately that the two hardworking lovely girls who are usually here were not in. There were two men working here today, and I let them know nicely that I'm quite fussy about my food, and could I please have some fresh Greek salad, as the little bit that was left in the bottom of the bowl looked very unappetizing. The one man dumped the salad, and brought out fresh salad . I thanked him, and watched as he put 4 raw skewers of chicken on the grill. I was very happy as I sat down to wait for my freshly cooked order. After a few minutes, another man came into the restaurant, and he talked to the men in a different language, that they were all familiar with. I patiently waited for my chicken to be cooked. I watched the man make the two platters I had ordered, and then I watched in disbelief, as he gave them to the other man, and after making me wait for the freshly cooked chicken that I didn't get, he put chicken that was sitting somewhere back there for my order. I am beyond furious. I don't care if they are familiar with each other. I very patiently waited for my food that was cooked for my order, and I watched this very rude man give my food away. I have been coming here for a long time, and I very much like the girls who have made this location very popular with their sunny dispositions, and the very good quality food they always turn out. I think the one man took pleasure in being rude to me. I think he didn't think I would notice, as I am an older woman. He was dead wrong. I hope the owner of this restaurant explains the importance of treating customers with respect. I feel he went out of his way to be disrespectful to me, and to shove my face in the fact that I waited for freshly cooked chicken, so I could then be given chicken that had sat for who knows how long. I was furious, and I left with the offending meal. If I would have thought longer, I would have demanded he cook fresh chicken AGAIN for me, and called him on his rude behavior. I will be waiting to hear from the owner of this restaurant, and I will not be back unless I do. So disappointed in people. The food was mediocre. Ladies feel better and come back to work and get rid of the two offensive men who know nothing of customer service.ou
To the owner of this Opa. I sent you an email with my phone number, and you can contact me this evening, or...
Read moreI am extremely disappointed with the unfair treatment of workers at OPA. Many employees have not been compensated for the hard work they have done, and this has been an ongoing issue. On top of this, I have noticed that the management gives cash payments to their own relatives, creating an atmosphere of favoritism and unfairness. This kind of practice is not only unethical but demoralizing for those who are simply trying to earn an honest living. OPA needs to address this and ensure that all workers are treated fairly and paid for their labor.
Reply to your review : you are asking your friends and relatives to delete my review, but why would I do that? Your actions have been unprofessional, and I stand by what I wrote. Firing someone just because their family came to pick them up from work—is that really a reason to terminate an employee? On top of that, you’ve been calling and texting them at 11 PM, which is completely inappropriate.
The person you fired was in distress, crying, and even experiencing panic attacks. Is this the standard your company upholds? It’s deeply concerning, and I would appreciate an explanation of how this kind of treatment aligns with...
Read moreLast few times we came here the calamari was rubbery and overcooked. So the original 5 start rating can not hold truth anymore. Didn't ask me what vegetables I wanted. And the male working was only interested in talking to Indians. Very disappointed by the lack of diversity hires no other nationalities seen. Barley speak English and the male was rude. Treated us very differently compared to when other Indians came in. Discrimination. Was more concerned with his conversations in another language in which one can only assume was talking poorly about us.
Tables were noticeably dirty as well. And bathrooms were no better. With the noticeable discrimination I doubt we...
