The crispy fried chicken n chicken burgers smelled awful as it wasnt cleaned n washed and the fat wasnt removed from chicken. It felt like it came from the slaughterhouse n straight into the coating material and fried. It wasnt crispy at all n neither spicy , hot/xtra spicy felt like mild, the chicken wasnt cooked properly, it was somewhat raw, the oil they fried the chicken wasnt fresh , in fact quite old that I felt burning the first time I had it, the fries weren't crispy but a little burnt n too much oily, fries were supposed to be fried at a temperature where they should retain the crispness , their flavor n not absorb oil. All I could taste was pototo slices submerged in oil. The chicken sandwich has the same story. The chicken pattie was flavorful but smelled gross because they didn't trim the fat n didnt wash or clean it before frying it n coating it. And then the gravy n buttermilk biscuits, ahhh! biscuits are suppose to be creamy n buttery n a little bit salty but they are nothing like so, in fact they are just oily n they are not dense at all. First time everything was good, 2nd time biscuits were a mess n 3rd n 4th time, everything was grossn I literally mean everything. 3rd time, I didnt eat it , came home n had some thing else.it was the windermere branch n decided to never eat there again. 4th time I was going somewhere with my husband n found another branch in Edmonton' since we were hungry , we decided to step in.....I explained the whole story to the cashier who taking orders from my past experience at the windermere branch n said if I am going to have the same experience , I m gng to return my order n ask for a refund, well guess what, the experience was as awful as the 3rd time, I returned the food after a single bit n had my money refunded. The cashier was a bit reluctant first but did it afterwards. End of conversation, we will never eat at popeyes again. I don't recommend Popeyes...

Seems like I’ve been having all the fried chicken lately! Decided to mix it up and try Popeye’s this time to compare (and because they were open later than Mary Brown’s tbh). Got mild and spicy chicken, opted for dark meat. Selection was quite limited since I went in the last hour they’re open. Also got biscuits, gravy and fries. The fries were good, the spices give them an advantage over regular fries but they do get soggy very quickly. The chicken itself was mediocre, I would have preferred it to be more flavorful. What distinguishes good fried chicken is that the flavor runs deep beyond the coating and into the meat itself. Unfortunately, Popeye’s didn’t quite satisfy that. They may have overcompensated for the unmarinated chocked by adding a little too much flavoring to the skin which just ends up making it saltier than it should be. It does the trick for a quick late night meal BUT will not be one of my go-to places next time I crave fried chicken. That said, their BISCUITS ARE AMAZING! Perfect creamy texture and just delicious, must have if you happen to...

I went to Popeyes today because I have eaten here before. They are advertising the winter warm up feast on their website for 31.99 for 10 piece of chicken 2 large sides and 5 biscuits. I got to the tamarack Edmonton location and ordered the product not seeing any signs in the resteraunt they informed me that it was only the Toronto Canada store that offered it and was told have to order a family meal which is more expensive with less food. As I was deciding what I was going to order the winter warm up special showed up on both pos terminal in front of both cashiers. They still would not honor the price. I then spoke to an manager this young Asian girl that also argued with me saying they will not honor the price. I then cancelled my order and left. This place is false advertising products which I took a picture of and will be sending it to the advertising standards board of Canada. I smel a big fine. And I definitely will not be back to either of the two Popeyes locations in...

Two times in a row I've been burnt by this location. First my wife and I were served a RAW 5 piece chicken fingers. When it was returned the staff just stared at me and then the chicken before realizing what had happened. Then this past Friday my wife stops to get me a blackened chicken sandwich not the deluxe. She orders and says she wants the Blackened Chicken sandwich that didn't have lettuce and tomato on it. They then proceeded to charge her for the deluxe which is more money then added without lettuce and tomato. How greasy of a move is that? Then I go to eat the sandwich and the chickens been cut in half or torn off or eaten I didn't know. I call in and get a voice-mail? Who has a voice-mail? When you call McDonald's or Wendy's or A&W someone answers the phone. It's been 48hrs without a callback so I'm done with this location. #Trash

After some thought, I'd have to conclude that I like their chicken better than their competitors. The chicken is crispy and juicy, and not half as oily. We ordered two combos, and just as soon as our payment approved, the meals were hot and ready on a tray in front of us. Nice. I'm not much of a corn bread person either, but I did enjoy theirs. Moist and buttery. Mmmm... Their large selection of sides are worthy. We ordered cheesecake to share. Nothing great, but not bad either. It did look cute and festive. It's unfortunate that they don't have one on the west side of the city, so I don't think I will go out of my way to eat here, but the quality and service is definitely there.
