DO NOT TRY THIS RESTAURANT A Sunday that couldâve started with warmth and comfort ended in disappointment and frustration. This is not just about food ,this is about emotions, effort, and expectations.
As someone who works in a kitchen, I understand that mistakes happen. Iâm usually the first one to say âitâs okayâ because I know how kitchens run. But what I faced today from Amritsar Junction was beyond just a bad food experience. It was a morning that started with hope and ended in regret.
I drove a long way, excited to start my day with a proper Punjabi breakfast. But what I received as you can see in the picture â was burnt naanâs , and food that didnât even look close to what I ordered.
I called them, hoping theyâd understand and fix it, at least offer to replace it or help in any way. But what I got was carelessness and no responsibility. I wasnât looking for a refund . I was looking for respect. For the time, money, and energy a customer puts in.
I live far from the restaurant â I trusted them to pack it right and serve it fresh. But instead, I got a meal that felt like an insult.
This might be âjust foodâ to someone else. But to people like me, this is a part of culture, pride, and connection to home. When thatâs treated poorly, it really hurts the heart.
This is my opinion. And Iâm sharing it because people deserve to know what to expect. All I hoped for was a good start to my Sunday⌠But this is what I got.

We recently visited Amritsar Junction and had a mostly delightful experience. The ambiance was cozy, with a menu that brought back the essence of North Indian street food. The decor was simple yet charming, making it a comfortable place for a casual meal.
The Spinach Puri with Aloo was definitely a standoutâcrispy, flavorful, and perfectly complemented by the well-spiced potato curry. The Amritsari Kulcha was also really good, with a crisp outer layer and a delicious, hearty stuffing. However, the Chhole were a bit of a letdown. They lacked the depth and punch of authentic Indian spices, which made the dish feel somewhat underwhelming.
We also tried the Spring Rolls, and they were a pleasant surpriseâcrispy, fresh, and tasty. Overall the food was good with a lot of options available to choose from.
One downside to our visit was the staff service, which was not up to the mark. The team seemed a bit inattentive
While the food had some hits and a few misses, itâs still worth checking outâespecially for their puris and kulchas. With improved service and a tweak to the chhole recipe, Amritsar Junction could easily...
Read moreI recently had a takeout experience from here, and I must express my utmost disappointment with the quality of their food and the unsanitary incident I encountered. My order included the popular dish, Malai Kofta, which is usually a delightful vegetarian option. However, to my absolute dismay, I found a hair in my meal, completely ruining the entire experience. I must stress that discovering such a repulsive element in my food is utterly unacceptable and reflects a severe lack of hygiene standards at this establishment.
The presence of a hair in my Malai Kofta raises serious concerns about the overall cleanliness and attention to detail in the kitchen. It not only ruined my appetite but also left me feeling disgusted and deeply dissatisfied. As a customer, I expect restaurants to prioritize cleanliness and maintain stringent food safety protocols to ensure a pleasant dining experience. Unfortunately, Amritsari Junction-failed to meet even the most basic of these expectations. I have all the proofs Call records and conversations with the owner ! I will be complaining to Alberta Health Services!
NEVER GOING BACK THERE !...
