This place has a sort of pub feel which is unique for indian restaurants. We ordered the Kaali Mirch Shrimp roll, and the Tikka Murg Momos and got a free 'Vada Pav?' with the order from skip incentives. Which came to 42.24, but would be 54$ had it not had the free appetizer. Ultimately the food was perfectly fine tasting, we liked the Momos, though were a rather disappointed with the portion size for the price, and the salad was to neither of our tastes (Though that could be on us). The kaali Mirch Shrimp rolls were basically two wraps, with the 'tortilla' being a heavily oiled on the doughy side and pretty good, the fries it came with were solid as well (I recommend keeping the fries as they are). The proportion of this item was fine, though also on the pricey side for what you receive.
The free Vada Pav we received was marked at 12$ but is likely priced to take advantage of the Skip incentives, as it was a very weak dish, it was literally two dinner buns, seasoned and lightly sauced, with two deep fried potato pattys, the seasoning was good, but ultimately the dish is not restaurant quality, and certainly not worth 12$, if it ever goes on their menu, it should probably be priced closer to 6$
Overall I cannot really speak for the quality of service or atmosphere of the location as this was a dine out experience, though the staff was friendly enough at pickup!
I was between a 3 or 4 stars for this restaurant, but ultimately give a 4, The portion size of the momos was disappointing in comparison to the price, and the free vada pav came across as misleading based on the price for a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreA Taste of Mumbai in Edmonton: A Hidden Gem for Authentic Indian Street Food I recently had the pleasure of dining at Desi Beats with my family, and I'm still raving about the experience. If you're craving a taste of Mumbai street food, this is the place to be! The highlight of our meal was undoubtedly the chicken biriyani. It was perfectly cooked, with tender chicken and fragrant rice. The flavors were balanced, and it was a feast for the senses. The tandoori wala murg Frankie was another standout dish. The soft, fluffy roti was filled with succulent tandoori chicken, making for a delicious and satisfying bite. And let's not forget the vada pav - a classic Mumbai street food that was executed flawlessly. The atmosphere of the restaurant was inviting and casual, making it a great spot for a family meal. The service was friendly and attentive, Special mention for Manveer who was very informed about the menu and the prices were reasonable. If you're looking for a truly authentic Indian dining experience, I highly recommend giving desi...

Absolutely fantastic experience. 1000% recommended. Great great great food and atmosphere. The food and service was impeccable. The Mumbai head chef definitely knows his cream sauces and application of spices. (Donāt worry, fellow lactose intolerantās out there⦠there is plenty on the menu) Wonderful vegetarian options as well.
Totally the friendliest owner and staff that I have experienced in a long while.
