Ordered a 12" peppercorn steak on rosemary parmesan with extra steak and a bowl of broccoli cheddar soup around 6:15pm tonight. Early on I noticed there was little communication between the two young ladies working there. The girl manning the exit end of the toaster didn't seem to know what was coming out the other side, nor what additional toppings to add to what sandwiches as per customer request. I didn't get extra steak on my sandwich. I even asked her to verify there was extra and she bluffed and said there was. Then after paying, she informed me that they were out of lids for the soup bowls and asked if she could just put it in a fountain pop cup. I told her, no thank you as I wasn't sure those cups are designed to be safe for hot items, so I asked to have the soup refunded. Neither of the girls seemed to know how to do a refund (so obviously the manager had barely trained them) I offered to wait for two customers to finish their transactions ahead of me so they could address the issue with my order without the added pressure of the other customers waiting. Eventually the girl at the order end of the restaurant asked if she could help me. I said, "Just waiting for a refund on my soup." She made a call in the back and eventually emerged with the lids they "didn't have." She handed me my soup and apologized for the inconvenience and then I asked her if she was sure she put the extra steak I payed for on my sandwich. She insisted she had.
So I get home and there is barely what I would consider a single portion of meat on my sub, and the bread isn't toasty and it tastes like whole wheat. (Pretty sure the rosemary parm is supposed to be white) Also it was dry as heck and I couldn't taste any peppercorn sauce. Also, my pepperoncini that I always look forward to was absent.
I don't blame these girls so much as their manager. Clearly the manager provided little to no training and then left these two girls alone to fend for themselves when they weren't ready to take the training wheels off. That said, good training or not, they shouldn't have lied to me about the extra steak. That's stealing. Even a child knows that stealing is wrong.
I also noticed another customer ahead of me had to return because their fountain pop had no flavour in it. When she told them they were out of syrup, the girl looked like a deer in the headlights and didn't know what to do and didn't seem to understand the issue as she just offered the customer another cup... I'm almost certain she never addressed the issue and the girl left without it getting fixed.
The customer's who came after me had a heck of a time getting their orders filled as well. It was the most uncomfortable I've ever been ordering a sandwich. None of the 7 customers that were there with me had any confidence in the staff. Eye rolls, incredulous wide-eyed nervous grins and sighs were exchanged in abundance.
The managers of this store would be doing South Edmonton a favour if they closed down as they obviously don't want to put in the time or effort to uphold the standards of what used to be a decent sandwich place. I would rather drive 10 minutes out of my way than throw my money away at this garbage...
Read moreI started to go to Quiznos again this summer, because of their Lobster Roll menu. But today I had a bad experience going to South Commons location. I took my kids to try it out, we purchased two sandwiches, then when I was trying to pay in cash $100. The server/cashier (Gill) was not accepting my payment because for the reason that they didn’t have change for the said bill. I responded that it’s already 7pm and she still have no change for my bill $100. Then she responded to me that last time she accepted a $100 bill, it was fake, I told her that’s not should be a customer concern that she can’t identify a real or fake bill, and added that customers have the right to pay cash. She (Gill) insisted that I should pay debit. When I said to her that I only have cash, she laughed and talked to the other server in the counter in (Punjabi) and said rude comments. The server/cashier (Gill) has no idea that I can understand Punjabi language. This all happened in front of my kids, the first bad experience from this location was few weeks ago, when I was in this location 10:15am and the store was still closed, when their store window indicated that they open 10:00am weekdays. I will never go to this location again, rude staff and...
Read moreAdditional as of Jan 4th, 2018: in the past I've had exceptional service and great food. Great and quick service is still there, but for the price I'm not getting that many toppings anymore, which is saddening coming from the "fresh, great quality!" Quiznos has always boasted about.
Additionally, what happened to the baskets you used to get your food in? Those were awesome little baskets that added a LOT to the experience of buying food, now now you just get a wrapped up sub as if it were to go. Worst though, was the dry and tasteless oatmeal raising cookie alongside the Gyro sub that was equally tasteless - most of the flavour I got from the red onions, the meat just didn't have anything going for it. This used to be a great location to visit, but not anymore.
Original review: Service is quick, food's nice and hot when you get it, and there are usually a decent selection of items you can add on to your meal (I usually go...
