Richard's Donair & Sub offers a decent donair but a below average poutine. Donair: Could benefit from a steamed pita, diced onions and tomatoes (instead of sliced), and stronger sweet sauce (was basically just watered down condensed milk). Still tasty, but better options such as Swiss or Eddie's Donair are nearby. Poutine: Weak tasting gravy and cheese curds that don't squeek when you bite them, which is usually an indication of frozen curds. However, I do applaud Richard's for ACTUALLY using curds, while most other donair shops sell poutines with a picture including curds but serve shredded cheese instead. Despite the critique, it's still a poutine, so it's obviously still dece. The service was friendly and the food was fine enough that I could see myself returning if nearby, but overall, Richard's was just your average neighborhood greasy spoon.

Asked for a veggie sub no tomatoes just lettuce onions pickles and olives the guy confirmed it with no tomatoes and i said yes and when i got the sub its tomatoes olives pickes no onions lol and its not cut ... so im supposed to cut it myself? Which i did cut it then when I called he told me i have to ask to get it cut so blames this all on me and says oh I thought it was this and that like that's how you treat customers?? Also there's no sweet sauce on here liked we agreed this is the most nasty tasting sub I've had ever and the guy on the phone was rude and was arguing with me its pretty sad to screw up a veggie sub that many ways lol disgusting....

I went to try the Donair Poutine only asking for it not telling them how i preferred it. Maybe i should have asked for tomatoes and onions on it. Not sure thats normal either. But it does not come with that on it. I prefer hand cut strips. But this has the rotary knife thin slices which are long. Some very long. I myself would have preferred hand cut and smaller fork bite sizes. But thicker donair meat to bite into. The portion is spot on. the taste i think is missing something. There is crisp bits of donair. Not my fave but if Thats what you like then you can expect that.

Been going there for 20+ years. Sunday June 9 2019 changed everything. Brought my wife and 3 kids in for the usual 2 cheese donair meals one with no onions and 3 orders of chicken fingers and fries meal to stay. Just so happened that the regular chef wasn't there. Some other guy with Hollywood glasses and a older gentleman who took my order were looking after business. just so happened that after i had ordered he asked me to pay I paid up and i tipped totaling $71 i sat back down and did some math and discovered he had overcharged me. i went back up to address the older gentleman and he ignored me pretending to be busy then only to attend new customers. When our food was ready the cooked called me over and handed my son a tray of fries with 3 orders of BURNT chicken fingers and then handed me the 2 Donairs like icecream cones and said "one no onions one loaded" i asked for the tray and the fries he looked at me and said "one no onions and one loaded" i ask where my fries are and he said he would bring them when they were ready. I mentioned i was overcharged and he told me to sit down enjoy my meal and he would fix things when i was finished. he then continued to complete orders and supply all new customers orders with fries and never brought us our fries. Our donairs were cold and dry. when we were finished i went up with calculations for no fries the over charge and i wanted my tip back. Totaling $20.50. he refused to refund me for fries that i paid for with my 2 donair combo meals and wanted to give me free fries after we were finished eating he needed proof of being over charged i gave him receipt and said he cant give me back the tip cause it goes to the boss then he wouldn't give back the reciept . Well my wife who is a bank manager went up to explain to him we want our money back he yelled at her to sit down cause hes talking to "The Man" Well that didnt go over well at all. I asked for the manager he said he was. i knew he wasnt. Non the less. He wouldnt listen to me and wouldn't return the correct amount of money Until my wife addressed the restaurant in whole we ended up leaving with $15.50 as his buddy tried to give us 10 dollars to shut my wife up. Most Horrible experience ever! Unfortunately all good things come to a end. As long as that idiot with the Hollywood Glasses works there were no...

Richard's Donair is a hidden gem nestled in the heart of the city. The first impression might not be overwhelmingly stylish as the place could use a bit of a makeover, but let me tell you, the food makes up for it in spades.

Food: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5) The food here is the real star of the show. I ordered the Super Donair with cheese, and I was blown away by the burst of flavors with each bite. The meat was perfectly seasoned, the veggies were fresh, and the sauces were a tantalizing symphony on my taste buds. The portion size was generous; in fact, it was so big that I couldn't finish it all in one sitting! Each bite was a testament to the chef's expertise and dedication to delivering top-notch quality.

Service: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5) The service at Richard's Donair is exceptional. The staff members are friendly, welcoming, and they go above and beyond to ensure customers have a great dining experience. They were attentive to our needs and made us feel right at home.

Parking Space: One of the perks of dining at Richard's Donair is the ample parking available. Finding a parking spot was hassle-free, which made the overall experience more convenient.

While the ambiance could use a little sprucing up, the outstanding food quality and impeccable service overshadow any shortcomings in the aesthetics department. If you're a fan of delicious, generously portioned donairs served with a smile, Richard's is the...

Poor service, fairly long wait, decent food.

Was a bit short on time but decided to stop by. Ordered a Chicken Donair and asked for some Baklava, I got charged the Donair plus something else for a couple of dollars which I thought was odd as I only saw whole trays for sale for ~$10, but figured they may have sold them individually as well. I was given a cheese Donair, I told them I ordered a chicken Donair, the server was hesitant to do anything saying I'd have to pay the difference, but the owner was quick to step in and fixed the order. After waiting for the new order I was only given my Donair and the server said I didn't order any Baklava, and I'd have to pay again for a tray. At this point it's been close to 20 minutes and i am not one to make a scene so I just took my Chicken Donair and left, still don't know what else he had rang me up for (my total was $12.08).

Donair tasted fine, but with other options nearby I likely...
