Royal Pizza Hamptons — Restaurant in Edmonton

Went to the Oil Kings game and tried to take advantage of the Signature Sunday Pizza Promo which offered 1 free small pizza. Tried placing the online order however the promo code wouldn't work. Called in to the Hamptons location and spoke with a person who stated no worries, place the order and they could adjust the price when I came in to pickup the pizza. We ordered 1 large pizza and the 1 small pizza. When we arrived, a lady at the till stated she had never heard of this promotion. I showed her a screenshot of the promo and explained that we confirmed with a staff member. She stated they still could not offer any discount however perhaps next time I placed an order, management may give me a discount. I thought this to be quite peculiar and reiterated the previous confirmation and stated we placed this order under the premise of that agreement. She spoke with another staff and came back stating they would not budge and so I declined my order and left. After we got home, we received a phone call from this lady who asked us to come back to get our order and that she would give us a $10 discount. We noted that we were already home and that the $10 is still less than initially confirmed and what their promo was stating. She then got upset and hung up on us. 5 minutes later we received another call, different person, perhaps same as who I initially spoke with who asked us to come back and they would honour the original agreement. What a joke this place is. Placed an order for delivery at 430 Eta said 530. At just before 6 I called to check on my order. I was immediately told the driver was on his way. About 5 mins later they called back and said the driver had delivered it but maybe to the wrong house. I checked every house in our crescent and found nothing. They said sorry we will remake it and send it right away. I asked if they were going to compensate me for what was going to be a 2hr wait from time of delivery. I was offered a free 2l pop on a order close to $80. I should have canceled and asked for a refund but my 8 year old daughter really wanted pizza. The food was delivered relatively quick after that still was just over 2hrs to get it. Then at 930 they called to tell me the driver found the original on the grass side of my house but gave me the fresh stuff and brought that back. I could not believe what I was hearing as there isn't really a grass side and I looked everywhere when they called to say it was delivered to the wrong house. All I could do is laugh at the fact they called me back just to lie to me and justify why the only compensation offered was a free pop. I love Royal pizza and the food was good but this will be the last time I ever order from that location. My husband went to order and pickup two cheese donair with side Greek salads. I have lived in Edmonton many years eaten at many restaurants over the years but when I say this was the worst cheese donair I have ever tried is no exaggeration! The donairs were saturated with the traditional sweet sauce but it was like condensed milk version of that sauce so thick it was disgusting. The meat slices were old dried up and some had burnt edges on them making it almost unpalatable. Hard to imagine this was ever served. The only saving grace was the side Greek salad that was fresh with lots of olives and feta with a nice Greek dressing. This experience has lead me to one conclusion….. never go to a pizza place for a donair; big mistakes and huge...
