We had heard great things about this place and finally decided to bite the bullet, and give it a go and we weren't disappointed. The food is incredible - tender, spicy chicken and flavourful spice n' rice with an assortment of delicious sides. That being said however, I think the customer service could be improved a bit. Everyone who works there is very kind and helpful, but the service is a bit slow and chaotic. When we ordered our food, we were told it would take 25 mins but once we got there (around 30 mins later), it took an additional 15 mins. The more disappointing piece was that we were only told 5 mins before we got our food, that they didn't have the ingredients for one of our orders and so, had to replace it with an alternative. I understand these things happen but it would have been courtesy for them to provide some sort of extra to compensate for the inconvenience. Also, when we received our order they forgot to include all the items and we had to remind them about it. All in all, the food is fantastic, the people who work there are incredibly kind, and one thing for sure is we'll certainly be back. My recommendation would be for them to have more of a system in place when it comes to ordering. For example, they could take the customer's number down to tell them if they had to make a change to their order or update them on their order if it's taking more time or maybe even, being more pessimistic with the time so expectations are being met. I would also double check the order and make sure it's fulfilled before giving it to the customer. If you're thinking of going to this place, I do highly recommend. Keep up the great quality of food Spice N Rice, and hopefully this feedback is beneficial 😊

This place was honestly one of my favorite places in edmonton and I'm so happy is so close to my house I had the jerk chicken and the mango curry chicken, and i really enjoyed both dishes without any complaints. The restaurant seems to have a great selection of Caribbean dishes, and the jerk chicken and mango curry chicken are definitely worth trying. If you're ever in the mood for something new, the oxtail stew is also worth checking out. Overall, it seems like this restaurant is a great spot for anyone who loves Caribbean cuisine. The food is delicious, and there are plenty of options to choose from. If you're in the area, I would definitely recommend giving it a try. The atmosphere of this place is very cute and traditional and I really enjoy it. One thing I will point out is that it does take a little long (about 15 to 20 minutes) depending on what dish butbhonestly is soo worth trying!

Great Jamaica food experience. My food was made fresh to order and was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The jerk chicken was so tender and juicy with an amazing series of the flavour levels that all hit the right emotions of great food. The plantains were fried and I must say I was very impressed with the crispy outside and soft tender innards . It was something unique to me, and it will be added to any future order from here as a full side . The cook did an amazing job and I look forward to going back again to try the rest of the menu

I recently moved to a new neighborhood and stumbled upon a hidden gem of a restaurant that has left a lasting impression on me. From the moment I walked in, I was captivated by the delightful ambiance, delectable food, and the exceptional hospitality extended by the staff. This review aims to share my wonderful experience at this charming establishment.

The moment I ordered the jerk chicken with rice, I knew I was in for a treat. The aroma alone was enough to make my mouth water. As I eagerly took my first bite, the explosion of flavors on my taste buds was simply divine. The chicken was tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned with a harmonious blend of spices. The accompanying rice was fluffy and complemented the dish perfectly. It was evident that the chef's culinary skills were top-notch, and the attention to detail in the dish was remarkable.

Although I had initially intended to take my meal as a takeaway, I couldn't resist the temptation to indulge right there in the restaurant. The way the dish was presented was truly pleasing to the eye. The vibrant colors and thoughtful arrangement of the jerk chicken and rice showcased the chef's dedication to creating an aesthetically pleasing experience for the customers. It was evident that they took pride in their craft.

What made my visit even more memorable was the warm and welcoming atmosphere that enveloped the restaurant. The staff treated me not only as a customer but as a friend, instantly making me feel at home. The genuine smiles on their faces added an extra layer of warmth to the experience. The owner, in particular, stood out as a sweet and amiable lady who took the time to engage in conversation and ensure that every customer felt appreciated. The genuine care and hospitality shown by the entire team truly set this restaurant apart.

The vibe of the place exuded a sense of inner love for people. The positive energy was palpable, and it was clear that the restaurant was more than just a business venture. The passion and dedication to creating a welcoming space for customers were evident in every aspect, from the decor to the staff interactions. It's not often that one encounters such a genuine sense of care and love in a restaurant, and it made my dining experience all the more exceptional.

In conclusion, my visit to this new restaurant in my neighborhood has been nothing short of extraordinary. The mouthwatering flavors, appealing presentation, and warm hospitality made it an unforgettable experience. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone in search of not only a scrumptious meal but also an atmosphere that will make them feel like part of a welcoming community. It is evident that the owner and staff have poured their hearts into creating a truly remarkable dining experience, and I cannot wait to return for another...

I think I will be as fair as I can with my experience at Rice n spice. I got to see the “newness to the service industry” in the staff that I had met. My lady friend and I came to the address early as I had happened upon it in passing during work. We were excited to see a new Caribbean spot in the city and wanted to see what they could do. First strike - they opened late. It was a young crew that opened about 10 minutes after the advertised time. Minor but still unprofessional. Most restaurant people are doing food prep before opening, with us we caught them unprepared. My Travel partner needed to use the washroom while I ordered. Feedback was it did need some minor attention. She could tell it was generally clean but not attended to the night before during closing. Had a bit of a wait for the order we made. No complaints about food quality. Just concerned over our side dish getting mixed I think I will be as fair as I can with my experience at Rice n spice. Overall service was fair. I would consider returning. Just not with the same zeal. I’ll call it growing...
