I did not want to give you any stars but it was the only way I could get a comment window to open. What happened to you?! I ordered delivery yesterday: Szechuan noodles with beef and Special fried rice at approximately $20.00 a plate delivered. I did not mind paying your comparatively higher prices because i wanted the food you used to make. The servings were generous but that does not make up for the lack of taste. The 2 packets of weak soy sauce you sent could do nothing to enhance the flavour. I was highly anticipating the food you used to serve and even more disappointed. The noodles were tasteless and neither the beef nor the soy sauce could amplify any taste. The soy sauce itself was weak and you only provided 2 packets which could do nothing to save either dish. The special fried rice was practically a joke. It was decorated with small tasteless shrimp. There was barely any meat in it, and what little was there was chopped so finely you could hardly see or taste it. The rice was not fried, it was simply mixed over heat with a tiny amount of minced meats and maybe a bit of soy sauce, and that's it. It hit my stomach like lead. As for the taste, I may as well have just ordered steamed rice - but that is not what I wanted. I was so hungry, I really tried to eat it. You should be delivering this stuff yourself and not be using a service so that I can call you directly to come and get it and return my money so I can order elsewhere. It has been a few years since I have been to the restaurant or ordered your food but I have recommended you as the "go to" place for Chinese food to many people based on my past experiences with you. Now I have, and will continue to text everyone I recall recommending to never mind, and that you are no longer who you used to be. Get a chef who cares about his or her work. Based on this experience, i will never put myself in this position again. I will choose my 92 cent artificially flavoured cup of noodles...
Read moreI did a search on Google for Szechuan Paramount Restaurant and on the right Google showed options to order dinners for 1 to 8. I clicked on Order Pick-up and then Dinner for 1 and then checked out. When I arrived I was told they only had a DoorDash order. After a lot of confusion that lasted about 10 minutes, I found out I paid an extra $3.00 to DoorDouche for ordering online and using a credit card, as well as losing the 10% off for pick up orders had I paid cash. This is after it said on the menu "No service fee." When I pointed this out the server said I should have called in my order and gave me a printed menu pointing out the lower price on the menu and the discount for paying cash for pick-up orders. I hate DoorDouche and have now made a formal complaint to the Alberta Consumer Investigations Unit for fraud. You (the restaurant owner who set up the system) can't say "no service fee" after raising the regular price of the item by $3.00! That is a service fee! Never mind the fact that I lost the 10% off had I paid in cash. Yes, I am angry with DoorDouche for allowing you to raise the fees for your products and then passing that same "service charge" onto customers who don't take the time to compare the regular cost of goods with the inflated cost, but rather click on Order Pick-up and believe the words "no service charge" which is not true. There was an added service charge of $3.00 added to the regular price of the dinner, thanks to DoorDouche taking my order and credit card number and then sending...
Read moreHave ordered food from here at least twice a year for 10 years of more, and have been satisfied until the last time I ordered, (about 6 months ago), when I found the szechuan beef was more like chinese shoe leather then beef. Regardless, I thought it was just a one-off and ordered from there again today. Well, I should have learned my lesson. First of all the girl that answered could not understand me well, and I understood her less. Took about 10 mins to get a simple order taken. Then she called me back 5 mins later to ask about one of the dishes I ordered. That was cleared up. Then,I had wanted the food delivered at a certain time, and about 10 mins before the driver was due, she called up and told me I owed $188 instead of the $101 I was quoted. I refused to pay and she hung up the phone on me. When I called back, the manager (I think) answered and told me she had the wrong phone number. The driver then called, and asked for my address as this person had given him the wrong one - and he ended up here 15 mins late. Opened up the bags, and tried the honey garlic chicken first, which I thought was szechuan beef. And tasted like it. The kung po shrimp was missing the peanuts, and I was missing my appetite. To make a long story short, if any of you have read The Raven by Edgar Allen Poe, you will understand what I mean when I...
