I went to Brewhouse all the time when I lived in Spruce Grove and I loved the staff there. I've been to this location twice and the service is appalling. The first time was bad, but not the worst. The server brought us our receipt and then 15 minutes later brought us the machine. The second time my wings were cold, the ranch was the consistency of water (apparently because it's homemade, but whether it's homemade or not it shouldn't be water). My friend had to request a second time for his beer as he received his food before his beer and the server completely forgot about it. We received our food at the same time even though I ordered before him and my wings were cold. I'm guessing they were sitting there for a while since we received our food at the same time. A dollar for ranch that was literally water and lukewarm. Never had ranch like that at Brew in Spruce. She never checked on us after we got out food and when I needed a refill it was impossible to flag down our server. Had to wait over ten minutes and I literally held my glass up trying to show her but she passed us several times and cleaned a table before I finally got her attention. We tried pressing the button but she didn't come until we spammed it. The only way to get her attention was rapidly pressing the button. Apparently her watch died which doesn't make much sense because it seemed to be working afterwards. I'm not sure how the system works but it should not be that difficult to get a refill. I was about to go up to the bar to ask them for water. Couldn't finish my wings because they were spicy and I needed water to finish them. At least we didn't have to wait fifteen minutes for a machine this time. Will not be visiting this location again as I like my wings hot and if I'm paying a dollar for ranch it should be cold and not the consistency of water. I went to brew in Spruce on the 23rd when they had their busiest night of the year and the service I received was faster than here when they had five tables in the whole restaurant. I love Brewhouse but sadly this location is terrible and honestly the service I received here is some of the worst I've ever had. I'm hoping another location in the city will be better than here as I will not be visiting this...
Read moreI came here in a group of six friends on October 28 at around 8 p.m. and it was not very busy--we were the only ones sat in our section until 9:30 p.m.. We were greeted promptly by a lovely server wearing a blue cape for Halloween and sat, but once we were sat it took about 20 minutes for our actual server, Tiauna, to bring around menus. Unfortunately, our experience went downhill from there. She made little attempt to connect with us, seemed generally cold and disinterested, and disappeared for 30 minutes after taking our 3 appetizer orders before taking our food orders. We were still missing essential items like silverware, napkins, and sharing plates, which the other servers delivered to us eventually realizing we were not getting service, and it even got to the point where the others were taking drink refill orders for us and checking in on us in her absence. She had not communicated to us that she was going on break, but we actually saw her several times chatting with the bartender and ignoring us for majority of this time. When she finally did check on us at around 9:15, we asked her to check on the status of our food and she left to check on it. Our food was brought out all at once, once again by other servers, but several of our dishes were cold indicating she had forgotten about them while chatting. She did not come back for another 20 minutes to check on our table and the food, and by this point, we just wanted to get out. We had to prompt her for nearly everything: more drinks, water refills, checking on the food, to go boxes, nothing was offered automatically. We ended up leaving by 10. We're very disappointed--my friends have eaten here a lot and boasted about the service usually received here. We've all spent several years working in the food, service, and hospitality industries, and while we understand the nature and struggles of this job, we're all very disappointed in her negligence, and appreciative of the two that went above and beyond and helped us even though it wasn't...
Read moreI've been to most locations of the Brewhouse and typically had a good time. Our group has been looking for a good place to get a wing deal so we can go weekly there. In our search we decided to try the 97th st location of the Brewhouse yesterday. Things looked promising at first but slowly spiraled into an unenjoyable experience for our entire group. Our server seemed very rushed to get our drink and food orders as fast as she could and to the credit of the establishment we did receive our wings quite quickly. The wings themselves were fine, the veggies and ranch that come with it was a joke however. It was the thinnest ranch I've ever had with a consistency nearly water. This also came with 3 cucumber slices and 3 celery sticks. No complaints on the cucumbers but 2 of the celery sticks were nearly 100 percent white, I'd throw these pieces in the trash if I was preparing them in my own home and would never serve them to someone paying money to eat. After the food arrived we rarely saw our server often. We would have loved to continue ordering more drinks but after waiting 45 min from the last round we ordered for her to return we decided to just get the bill. I don't expect a server to walk around with a giant smile and put in a big show, I understand it can be a demanding job. Having said that, I've never had such a miserable server before. I didn't catch her name but she seemed like she truly hated her job. Maybe she was overwhelmed with other tables, but if that's the case then the management must be doing a terrible job. I would have loved to make this our regular wings spot, but I'll be placing 97th st Brewhouse at the bottom of my list and will let people know to steer clear of...
