This is the absolute worst, disorganized club in Edmonton. Extremely rude and unhelpful staff; the bouncers scream, push and shout at everyone, but this was only the beginning.
You go inside after waiting in the cold for about an hour in a line that never seems to move and the cover is $30 per person. The two girls at the front collecting the cover were extremely unprofessional and rude. My friend in front of me had paid for mine and my other friend’s cover but she forgot to stamp me so I go back to her and explain the situation and all this ignorant, dense girl does is chew her gum and roll her eyes at me. Clearly not an ounce of customer service training went into these people when they were hired. Hope she has fun working at the Chvrch of John for the rest of its entirely since she clearly won’t be able to land or hold a job elsewhere with that trashy attitude.
Anyways, we go inside and the bar has a strict sign stating “all card transactions must be minimum $50.” As if you’re not getting robbed enough at entrance, they will rob you at the bar. Funny how they can only accept cash or minimum $50 for card transactions at the bar but the girls at the front have no problem taking $30 on the Moneris machine from each person for cover fee. You’d think these were the end of my problems for the night but you’re wrong.
My friends and I ended up stepping outside for a minute just to figure out our plan for the rest of the night after being inside for a while because we could not have an audible conversation inside, which I understand it’s a club so it is loud, the loudness was not the issue. We try to come back in showing our stamps to the bouncers and they said it’s the same line as before to get back in. We were absolutely dumbfounded. So people are expected to pay $30 to step foot in this filthy, distasteful club and then not even allowed back in. Ridiculous. At this point, my friends and I had enough of this place so we ordered an Uber to a different club.
My friends and I are never going back to this uninviting, despicable establishment. Don’t bother coming here because you will get scammed. Save your time and money and...
Read moreI regret to say that my first and only visit to Chvrch left me with an incredibly negative impression. As someone who was looking forward to celebrating a birthday with friends, the treatment I received was not only disappointing but also deeply disheartening.
Upon waiting in line with my group of friends, all women, I was denied entrance after my friends had their IDs scanned and were patted down. It was only after this rejection that I was informed about the dress code, which I was not previously aware of. I am a plus-size, gay, cisgender male who embraces my identity through fashion, this night I was wearing a full face of makeup, a fishnet top, ripped jeans, and Adidas shoes.
The bouncers did not provide any explanation about the dress code until 15-20 minutes later. To make matters worse, I was handed a shirt with the Chvrch logo and asked to change outside in plain view of everyone.
Following this ordeal, I was then made to wait in the reentry line, only to be told at the last moment that I had to pay for the shirt provided by the establishment. Fortunately, a friend inside had already purchased a shirt for me, sparing me from additional inconvenience.
What baffles me most is the inconsistency in enforcing the dress code. While my friends, all women, were allowed in with mesh dresses and bikinis underneath (despite the "NO MESH TOPS" rule on their dress code list), I was left standing outside in the cold, enduring a lengthy wait to understand why I was denied entrance.
This experience was not only a first for me but also a stark contrast to my previous positive encounters wearing similar attire at different establishments. It leads me to believe that I was discriminated against based on my body size and sexual orientation.
I will not be returning to this establishment and I suggest you all go somewhere else. It is not worth it unless you want to be...

Place was completely empty with only Bartender and Staff
Was ripped off for Drinks , then I somehow left my Gstar zip up hoodie on the Bench next to the DJ which I was buying drinks for and chatting up most of the night...
Left and was a Lil toasty from Dancing , accidentally leaving my Zip up Hoodie behind ($180 Value like New)
Next day called and left a voicemail and no return call , sent a Buddy who lives nearby and he was told No Dice on the sweater
The Guy in Charge* that night who was aligned with the blonde Female Bartender was mean mugging instead of welcoming paying dancing customers who simply wanted to have a good time and Vibe to the music ... Got shown Edmontons lowsiest demonstration of business etiquette.
A Call back and my sweater back*, beyond being ripped off for Drinks for thier probably underpaid DJ , would have been NICE
I Would Say this place only support Junkes and has Zero respect for the General Public. I even Tried to endorse a perfectly fine customer on the sidewalk who was refused entry , i offerd to pay his entry etc...
These people are Bougie and very Uncanny , taking home people clothing articles ....
Blah Blahh...
